Ok so lockdown has turned a bit tense here after large 15yr old without any concept of the length of his limbs has managed to break the grill door glass on our much loved and still smart old Cannon range cooker (Gas).

Looked for ages online and spoken with numerous spares provided but it's a long discontinued cooker and only a handful of spare parts still available and not this particular one.
A replacement cooker are eye watering £££ as it's an unusual 120cm wide unit.

Does anyone on here know if there's a business that does bespoke oven door glass work?
It's a strange semi mirrored finish and requires bonding to some metal components so I'm not holding out much hope but with STW you never know!

Plan b is to replace with a blank of brushed stainless steel to sort of match other parts of the cooker.

Fastglass do custom cut wood burner glass.
I'm not sure, but I'd guess an oven door is similar if not the same. It's mostly Schott ceramic from what I've seen.
I'd give them a call.

Might be worth giving a local glass company a call. We have one in Macc that mainly does windows but will cut different types of glass to size on the spot. I've had bits of mirror and stove glass cut for much cheaper than online.

Doesn't help you, but...

Some oven doors are screen printed with ceramics (to create black borders, graphics, etc.). Many years ago some colleagues developed a detector to stop these parts going into the firing furnace the wrong way up (because the ceramic ink then got on the rollers and transferred to the 'good' side of subsequent parts so the kiln had to be stopped to clean / replace them).

One of these colleagues went out to the Australian plant that did the screen printing and firing to install the detector. He was told about a very rare bird that lived near the plant, and that he should listen out for its call.

All the time he was there, he kept getting asked if he'd heard the Kookadaw* yet...Being young, wide-eyed and British he kept politely saying no.

(*cooker door...)
