Sad to say it probably looks pretty normal from space.

Would be nice to be wrong though.

Doesn't the energy consumed in making the candles somehow offset the energy of me sat here with the lights off?

Really should turn my phone off too (that i am writing this on) as that is consuming energy which I will just need to use at a later date?

You could alternatively go live in a cave and eat grass for added realism, just a thought 😉

Nope, can you explain what will it achieve if i switch off my one house light that is on at the moment and sit in the dark for an hour? - it'll do absolutely ****-all that's what it will do. What about lobbying the major city centre retailers to switch off their store lights at night?, perhaps use traffic sensitive road lights or street lights, tell the local councils or the house of lords that they don't need to heat their work places to 24 degrees, if switching off your lights makes makes you feel all nice n' gooey inside then go ahead but if you think we as a capitalist nation will make any genuine change to our way of life at the expense of our comforts and expectations then you're deluded.

I'd love to see us turn our society on it's head and make genuine fundamental changes but that ain't going to happen in my lifetime or any of our lifetimes.

Oh dear, it's Saturday night and I've had a few beers, not gonna get into this debate.

If u turn one light off it will make no difference, if everybody in the country did it, then what do you think??

The fact that the whole isle or Arran is without power and will be for a few days will probably have more of an effect tbh.

Enjoy your evening. Lights on or off your choice.

Given that all the street lights are still on as are car headlights, it's not going to make any noticeable difference switching off the lights in a house with the curtains closed....

I turned on extra lights upstairs (150W halogen), and booted an extra PC for good measure.

I was in the garage with all the lights on and all the heaters turned up to max. I hope a whole lot of you switched yours out to balance out my wanton consumption (but if I'd turned off the lights I'd have not got much done and if I'd turned off the heaters I'd be frozen to the bike)
