Really feeling this wasn't one of his wisest moves, seems like an aweful lot of risk whilst appearing to be very unprepared.
I'm sure the Insta360 has the opposite effect of the 'GoPro Effect' and is making everything look steeper, more vertical than it was. Still seems to be a lot of risk taking with not a lot of safety equipment (or proper equipment for some, one of the group was wearing Vans).

It has the effect of actually showing some depth to the terrain, it might be exagerated, but at least it shows depth unlike Go-pro's "everthing is flat" look. Also they don't crash every five minutes. Though I find the fish eye view, looks weirder the bigger the screen it's shown on
Doesn’t appear to be the best planned recon mission but the Via Ferrata are not really that extreme as long as they’re not falling to bits.

I tend towards the view that a klettersteigbremse etc is a key component to keep it in the " not very extreme" category though
Maybe they had one but avoided including it the footage to look more rad. Looks like not though!
He looks like he's exploring the area east and south of Refugio Locatelli, hence the great views of Tre Cime/Drei Zinnen probably from near the lower slopes of Monte Paterno. I've done VF around there a few times and what they did was at best very silly. Shinning up a VF without any kit in less than desirable weather is a great way to tempt fate. We all know how fit and strong he is but that was just daft.
Yeah that was pretty nuts, or do I mean stupid... it also had a bit of a Bear Grylls staged exaggeration vibe to it. With the lens too, it was hard to really get an idea of how things actually were. Climbing up a vertical face in a crack with only a wire to hold onto looked a bit mental, as did walking up to a cliff edge covered in snow allegedly not knowing what did or didn't lay beneath. Agree needs to be taken more seriously!
