Sorry if a thread exists forum search has vanished (for me at least!)

Lad just went online to get his results, lowest German 6, highest Maths 9 everything else in between so he's happy. He will also be collecting his results and seeing mates but wanted to know beforehand in case of disappointment.

I hope it's good news for anyone else here waiting to hear results!

Good news here.  It’s raised a few questions about A-level choice, but only because there are 5 really nice choices and he probably only wants to do 4.

Well done!

After GCSE’s last year and then next year A-Levels and GCSE’s - a year off from results for us - thankfully!

very pleased and relieved, after all he's been through.

5's were his minimum on 3 or 4 subjects, 6's on the rest including maths so well over the threshold that you need for future, and then 7's in Music and Eng Lit, 8 in Eng Lang and 9 in drama. As he's going on to do performing arts at college that'll do very nicely.

He also got a Merit for his English Language spoken word piece, where they write and then present a piece about something relevant to them; he spoke about his trans struggles and reduced his class to tears.

he gets to stay on at his school for 6th form which was his main worry.

Liking the good news people. Especially for your kid Jon. Great results for my youngest as well.

Oh, If anyone has bad news to digest… it’ll all be great long term, hugs all around.

Our daughter went from wanting to do her whole year again because she was falling so far behind because of depression brought on by the lockdowns back in 2020 and last year to having the best grades in her year! Her school have been really supportive and the head teacher had told us that she would be accepted into the IBL Programme irrespective of her results.

Mrs Dubs classes broadly in agreement with predicted grades, kids who did the work did well, kids who didn’t, didn’t.

Congrats /commiserations as appropriate to all of your kids

Some great news so far, well done to all.

Despite the doom and gloom from the press, pretty much everyone I've heard from seems to have kids who got at least what they needed for their planned next stage.

Enjoying a results free year Chez Morecash

Happy in our house, and fortunately for him he got a 9 in French so his French mother won't kill him!

Nephew has eight passes, half at 6 and above. He can now go on to college to study T-levels. Happy and relieved. For the amount of work he put in, this was an achievement. I predict higher grades with the additional motivation that he REALLY wants to do T-levels and they suit him better.

Relief here, not to the level of some others on here but as high as she could get and enough to get her 6th form place! I had to collect her results and it was more nerve racking than when I got my own years ago!

Does anybody understand what the Mark Equivalent number is all about?

Mark Equivalent?

I have no idea whatsoever as to the meaning of the numerical grades. Nor what a T-Level is.

But it sounds like STW kids have a good set of results. So congrats all!

Yeah, but could they bleed a Shimano STI successfully first time? 😉

Congrats all? Absolutely.

I have no idea whatsoever as to the meaning of the numerical grades.

I collected my nephew's results this morning, I thought he'd failed everything (all 7s, 8s and 9s with a 'D' thrown in) when I sent him a photo of his results. Apparently they're all A equivalents with a distinction in one - had no idea.

Also, three different 'A' grade equivalents - WTF?
