Has anyone stayed at the Gatwick Airport Central travelodge ? Is there anywhere good to eat / drink on a Friday night within walking distance ?

I use the Sofitel at Gatwick for early/ski flights. It's very good indeed, but food is a bit average at best. Usually try and take some sort of hotel room picnic from M&S or something.

The Premier Inn there is really good for the money—there's a nice restaurant (pizza/pasta/burgers/steak-type thing) and a good Costa on site
