Starting to do a lot more swimming and keep looking at one of these to solely use in the pool.

Currently use an ageing Vivoactive 4 and occasionally an Epix 2, which I’d rather keep out of the pool.

Anyone here at STW use a garmin swim 2 ? Are they accurate and reliable for swimming tracking ? (Suspect this may be a bit niche for a mountain bike forum, but you never know.)

Just use the Epix, it will handle the pool just fine, unless its too big.

I use a Forerunner 55 for all activity tracking including swimming twice weekly - training with a masters club, not just recreational. Accurate and reliable for R, distance and timings etc. Doesn't record kick properly, unsurprisingly.

I don't feel the need for anything fancier - not sure what I'd get out of something like a swim 2.

Ignoring the vivoactive for the mo as that is finally playing up, the Epix handles swimming superbly.no drama with it.

It’s just I’ve upgraded to the 51mm Epix through a sale promotion and whilst it’s bloody amazing, it’s just too big for the pool and it also looks quite nice, don’t think the massively chlorinated pool will be too kind on the delicate garmin finishing.

im not after anything extra from the Swim 2, just that it handles swimming superbly as that’s all I’d use it for.
