Probably been done to death, but anyone use a viable alternative?

My boss was asking this very question to me earlier today. I've got a RaceWear one from eBay, here infact. No idea how durable it is but for £5 it may be worth a punt.

I put a k-edge top cap mount on my new bike, much neater solution.

On my mountain bike I've got a Barfly that mounts the Garmin above the stem. On my road bike I've got a K-Edge mount out the front.

Both work really well

sram one is good. I was tempted to go uber cheap ebay but then you are dangling £250+ of gadget on it and might not want to see it go bouncing off into the undergrowth or under a lorry.

Personally I think the point of the out the front option is the ease of using and viewing the screen - I have a garmin one and it is ace,

Use a tether. I managed to break the plastic insert on a not cheap k-edge mount and nearly lost my Garmin. I probably hit it as I went over the bars but I'd rather a relatively cheap mount broke than the back of the Garmin.

I bought a cheap one from eBay. Think It was called velochampion or something similar and cost around £10. It seems very strong, the mount is a snugger/more secure fit than the garmin original and it's secured to the bars (road) perfectly well. I can't see how it could be functionally any better.

I really like the k edge. Not cheap but it's well made. I've got a cheaply sram over the stem one for the mtb, does the same job for a third of the price

I had some birthday money and succumbed to a K-Edge on the road bike. My aging eyesight can read it much better now it is an inch or so in front of the bar.

I anticipate that in two years time my Garmin will be mounted at the end of a set of tri-bars so I can still read it.... 🙄

I've got the Racewear one...was a fiver from Ebay - real neat idea as it mounts the unit below the top of the stem, so if you flip the bike over, it doesn't get messed up. Seems to be strong enough, the unit isn't heavy and the mount is solid so providing I don't skelp into anything, I'm thinking this is going to last a good while...

The Superstar ones are good value, got two of them, no issues.

I can't help thinking that would look awful with the computer mounted......
