The strap on my fenix 6 is a couple of years old and needs replacing. It leads a hard life and a couple of the adjustment holes have snapped so it's loose on my wrist. I need a replacement before I loose it.
I am quite happy to replace it with a genuine Garmin strap but are there any more robust alternatives, that are still comfy?
There are loads of aftermarket straps on eBay for not much money at all. But having tried them I tend to end up back in my Garmin one as it's a bit more flexible and feels like it fits better.
I recently replaced the OEM strap on my Fenix 7 with a Garmin Ultrafit. The slight elasticity in it feels comfier as it adjusts to my wrist better, not sometimes being "stuck" between one hole being too tight and the other too slack.
I bought this one - works fine and is as good as the original
I replaced my original one on my Garmin Fenix 6 recently as one of the adjustment holes had snapped - obviously the most used one. It had a tough life - worn almost daily since purchase just after release.
I went with GarmStraps - https://garmstraps.com.
Seems just as flexible and comfortable as the original - but it was significantly cheaper at c£22. No complaints from me.
I'm a fan of the YOOSIDE Hook and Loop straps on my Fenix. Very comfortable and easy to adjust. Just a shame that they are so boring with their colours 😀
If you can wait, have a look on AliExpress. I'm fairly sure the Gramstraps and Yooside ones are the same straps just 3-4 times more expensive.

Personally, these type of straps are more comfortable than the plastic ones, which are sweaty and split when they age. Same as the straps on Casio watches.

I get mine from here. I find their silicon straps don't irritate my skin like some of the Garmin ones do. Also means I can change strap colour to suit my current mood 😁
I've had a few generic straps from various places, one thing I'd avoid is any with metal ends, I had a knock-off garmin leather strap that seemed to kill my instinct's compass.
+1 for preferring the nylon hook and loop straps.
OP here, thanks for all the suggestions. In the end I decided on the Garmin hook and loop. Being slimmer it doesn't get caught up on things so easily. I think I prefer it to the original strap.
