You don't need to be an 'investor' to invest in Singletrack: 6 days left: 95% of target - Find out more
At the moment I am going out riding and running predominantly by myself. This is in the Welsh boarders where potentially you wouldn't be found for hours/days and there tends to be no phone signal.
Most of my rides I create using Garmin Connect route and download to my Garmin. But it would be great if I could just share the route with Mrs FD by email etc. Is there anyway to do this?
The only other thing I can think to do is to use Strava routes and then faff manually downloading the route and uploading to my Garmin 500, however just tried the share by email function and I still haven't received an email...
Any ideas?
You could give her access to your account, tell her the name of the course and she can just log in and look.
Using an app or PC?
PC gives you the option to download GPX file, which you can then send to her.
PC and App both let you make the Course public, so she would find it by searching by name.
I create my route on a PC, and then I was hoping (like on Strava) to be able to send a link via email and just put her email address in and she receives a link that she can open on her mobile/MacBook, works PC etc where ever she is.
The Strava links have just come through 10 minutes later.
Just seen that if I make it public on Garmin I can then share it with her by copying the link, opening up my email (I just use web mail, so a faff) but I guess it works... would be nice just to have a 'send a link by email' button
^all that plus you can share a link to the course
edit: you can share the activity from the android app

I’ve downloaded the apple app and can do the same, that’s the simplest way for me to do it thanks !
Also have a look at the live tracking feature if you also carry phone with you; pretty sure the 500 supports it.
It works like spot trackers, strava beacon etc to update current position, although if you struggle with signal it might not work brilliantly.
