Hi,

I haven't used Strava for five months. Tried to upload today but it said you need Garmin connect as I use a 305. Downloaded that, it just keeps going back to the screen which device are you using and download connect?

Any ideas please?

The question is now further complicated by garmin having two different communication programmes, the original garmin connect with ant agent, and the newer all in one garmin express. The latter stores data files in a different place to the former. Strava talks to garmin connect, but garmin connect can't see files that have been loaded via garmin express (unless you use the mklink command from the command prompt to make a symbolic link between the two. Garmin connect also dislikes various common security settings in a variety of browsers.

In short it's a bit of a mess. Good luck!!!

You can upload to garmin, then download the gpx file and upload it to strava

Hmmmm, I used to plug 305 and upload straight to Strava but not anymore. Strava is saying I need garmin connect (which I have) so it can upload straight from my 305.

Proper technophobe so I ain't got a clue what is going on?

Have you tried to plug, unplug the Garmin?
Works for me when my forerunner 305 won't upload. And it seems to work better in Internet Explorer rather than Firefox or chrome.

I need to press the upload button at least twice for it to work, otherwise I get the download the plugin message.

It's a strava problem, I can upload to training Peaks no problem, strava is a PITA and doesn't work anymore

it is a struggle when the Garmin is full of ride . not an issue when half empty .
