I've got an area of garden divided into three strips with plants in a border around it. The middle strip is piss poor grass with weeds, one strip used to be a veg patch and is now weeds, and the other used to have shrubs on it and is now also weeds.
I want to make it all grass. I don't think it's worth trying to keep the middle strip of grass, so shall I just spray the whole lot with glyphosate? How long before I can turf over it?
I'm thinking that if I just dig it over the weeds and couch grass etc will come back through - is that right?
Glysophate will be 6 - 8 weeks before you can plant.
Use round-up. Dig over and Turf after 24 hours.
The active ingredient in Round Up is Glyphosate.
If you dig it over the couch grass and perennial weeds will persist, especially Docks and Dandelions.
Spray on a sunny warm still day when no rain is forecast for a few days to come. Leave it a week or so and all should be dead. Re-treat any patches that are still green.
