Single detached garage, apex roof, roughly how much inc drawings, building inspections/permissions etc?
I don't know about price but you need to spec materials, oak, concrete block, single / double skin walls, plasterboarded, slate, tiles, electric, water etc???
I am in the very slow process of building one, you can cut your faffage by building within permitted development, get online at .gov to see the rules.
Cheers will peruse
What size?
Materials are bloody expensive again at the moment!
Drawings easy enough to do yourself
Planning coupla hundred quid.
3cx for day to dig founds/level up £250
Concrete for founds/floor 75m3
Decent brick £250 a thou at 60/sqm
Blocks between 50/80p at 10/sqm
I'd also go for a truss roof as far quicker and easier, poa!!
Slates/tiles big variant depending on what you have!
If not doing it yourself then, Decent jobbing builder £120/day
Your labour/assistance to him free im afraid.
Garage door!! Doh!!!!!!! ££££ or £££ depending on spec, personally I'd also have a side door too.
Also if you want to up your sq footage go for an attic truss as you'll be able to get up there and deck it out! More cost tho.
Why not buy an off the shelf concrete panel garage? Probably cost £1500/2000 fitted. Youd need to do the base yourself, something like 100/150mm of concrete with mesh would be ok, say 3m3. Planning would be a few hundred, if you know someone who does CAD they could do the drawings pretty quickly.
Good idea, just requested a quote, security is the key for me after having had shed break in, how secure are prefab garages?
Doors and windows are the weak points, so somewhere between 0 and 10 will see the best trade between security and access. 🙂
Budget for extra locks on an up and over door and 5 lever deadlock on the access door.
on average if your were to work on £600 per meter squared that would give you a good idea
I had the same problem, my old garage was attacked twice, first time no success, second time cleaned out of all tools, bikes, and fishing gear.
A prefab garage was around £3000
To have one built from drawings, in brick was another £1000.
In the end i ordered a 10 x 8 ft shipping container in green, had a side window cut out, and a rear door installed, covered it in trellis, and grew clematis up the sides, total cost delivered £980 + £200 for the door and window.
Best bike shed ive ever owned.
And for the car I built a car port.
