I just want to check my sanity. Three quotes received, and the one I have most confidence in is £2400. This is from a local place to me (preferred due to locality and the ethics of paying a local/family business during these times) for a double electric sectional up and over, two remotes and an interior button, installed and the old door/frame/motor disposed of.

Does that sound right?

Think I paid about 2.1k about 4 years ago for a Hormann like that

Yes - I paid similar for a double electric roller a couple of years ago.

I think the quote for a standard up & over double door was £1700 and we went with the Hormann sectional for an extra £500 - one our best additions to the house.

I think I paid just over half that for a single Hormann so I guess that doesn’t sound too bad.

In hindsight if I was doing it again I’d get a roller. My garage ceiling is quite high, but the opening isn’t so I’ve lost a lot of height that could be storage where the door encroaches.

I wanted a roller but didn't have room for the roll above the door without it encroaching on the opening
