I'm after a projector for the garage that I can hook up to my Fire TV, I've had a look around and prices range from £40 to £4000! I've looked on eBay, DX and high street stores.

I'm not after a cinema quality system but I'd still like it to be watchable, ideally I'm thinking a few hundred quid (not sure if that's realistic?)

The projecting distance is 3.5 meter and has no natural light

Last time I looked into it for similar purposes it wasn't possible.

Cheap projectors (anything <£400) are about as good or as bad as £400 flat screen tellies were 10 years ago. The picture can be reasonable (HD, good contrast etc) but there's issues with lag and interpolation so anything moving quickly has a tendency to flash. Fine for powerpoint, really annoying in a film.

There was a £300 50" JVC TV advertised the other day, it'll knock the socks off any projector at that price, and at ~3m do you need bigger?
