Clarence Park Lido this lunchtime.

One female repeatedly chased, head forced underwater, raped by her two assailants then drowned.
Both attackers then fought each other for the right to defile the corpse.

This happened as several families watched.
No one tried to help.

If there is such a thing as reincarnation, I really, really don't want to return as a duck.
Dem's nasty.

What if that was your wife?

You'd be from Norfolk? And she might also be your cousin?

Nice ninja edit, Kryton!

I've read about this behaviour before but never witnessed it.
That's why I posted.
Interesting to witness animals we usually class as comical and/or delicious displaying such behaviour.
One in the, er, eye for the anthropomorphists out there to ponder.

I reckon my wife could have fought them off.
They weren't very big ducks.

As a Cumbrian, I've grown up to expect such fowl behaviour in Lancashire.

Sounds like pretty normal behaviour if the ducks around here are anything like typical!

Gang rape seems to be a way of life for them.

You could always check to see if one of them was a soul singer by putting it into a microwave and seeing if it's Bill Withers.

Sadly have witnessed such a thing, even more bizarre it was during dinner at Club Med resort in Turkey and despite requests the staff just ignored it, they pointed out it wasn't unusual. It did put us off our food !

As opposed to what? "Excuse me garçon, the nature is offending us, could you turn it off please?"

It's an odd scene all the same.

I think the setting hightens the incongruity - we had just managed to sit down with a client for lunch, moving away just wasn't possible.
Colleague did a great distraction job, as did the various mums and grand parents.
Dunno if the toddlers would have noticed, tbh.

It's a nice park though with a couple of miles of trails that would make a pleasant family jaunt.
Good playground, outdoor gym, balance park.

" necrophilia " - I'm not an expert on ducksex and I know they play rough but I thought all parties were alive at the vital momment ?

It's why edward Wilson wrote his zoological reports about penguins from Scott's Antarctic expedition in latin. He didn't think the non-scientifically educated public could cope with the fact that nature is pretty brutal.

Mr Potatohead, I think the point was the males accidentally killed the female and then carried on; they don't realise that the female is dead.

The sexual practices of ducks is a surprisingly interesting area of scientific study:

Just a very old joke. đŸ™‚

There appeared to be several 'vital moments' btw.
Both pre and post mortem.

When I was living in deepest Andalucia, a Spanish country gentleman told me the best nookie was with a chicken. Apparently you wait until the gravy strokes then wring their necks and they die shuddering....

I believed he was sincere.
