Yeah same here.... Leak came from India I believe. Definately going to watch that one in HD when it airs Tues.
Wow, that was impressive - spoilers from here on in??
I was about to say the Arya/Brianne fight was one of my best bits yet until the real action got going.
Arya vs Brienne was my favourite scene and this weeks man crush is Jaime Lannister. Would have been happy enough if he'd successfully completed that final charge.
O.M.G! That was brilliant!! 😀
Wow!

Season highlight thus far. Great ending.
I cheered when one half of Robson and Jerome hit the dragon.
Got to admit, the tactical nous of Team Expressive Eyebrows is somewhat lacking. Have 3 dragons that can rip through an entire army? Then why not use just one, then have loads of your army die/get in the way of further attacks from the one dragon you did bring.
Still no Hound, but Ayra being badass made up for it.
Little finger is on borrowed time I feel.
I am 100% now on Team Cersei. Well, only because of Jaime and Bron.
The next episode is Eas****ch so time for a healthy dose of the Hound hopefully. Is Jaime going to be captive again I wonder? I really wanted to see Ser Bronski fry, oh and I want a pet Drogon.
Is Little Finger on Arya's list? I can't remember.

I think they've said previously that a dragon needs a rider to be controlled in battle and the only riders they've referenced have been targaryen so as far as any of the characters know there's only one possible dragon jockey.
Although isn't John Snow half Targaryen?
Nope.Is Little Finger on Arya's list? I can't remember.
Although isn't John Snow half Targaryen?
He is but only Bran knows it. Also there may be one other half Targaryen knocking about so we may get to see dragon squadron going into battle at some point.
Wow that was fantastic and I wasn't expecting that. Nice bit flame throwing! It's all happening!
Good bits and bad bits. Getting a bit fed up of the same characters being invincible. Jaime Lannister should have died about 30 times. The best thing about GOT was how unpredictable it was, think it's losing that a lot. That cave scene was almost funny.
Being a bit of a grammar pedant, I liked it when Ser Davos corrected John Snow's.
Jaime to be saved by the dragon and held captive and rekindle his relationship with Tyrion?
Those Children of the Forest make a mean hand-grenade, but they can't draw for shit.
Great fun all round, but Dany's army turning up in The Reach was the most egregious teleportation yet.
Great episode, even with the cave of convenience and telaported armies.
Also there may be one other half Targaryen knocking about
I can't really remember but wasn't there a question of who Tyrions father was ?
Think that was one of the best episodes of any series, first half some actual character/story development and second half a battle, with a dragon! Are we heading for a Luke & Leia moment (although half and half is probably fine in a world where Cersei and Jaime are at it. I guess Bran must let Jon know soon
Dany's army turning up in The Reach was the most egregious teleportation yet.
Weren't in the Reach though, were they?
Just before they were attacked Randall Tarly told us that the gold ( at the head of the column), was all safely behind the gates of Kings Landing and they just had to hurry up the stragglers at the end of the column.
The battle presumably took place on the Rose Road not far from Kings Landing, which is pretty close to Dragonstone. No teleportation required.
i love Bron, and Jamie tbf - but i really wanted to see them fry in that battle!!!
thats the first time ive ever watched an episode then gone back to the beginning and watched it again straight away!
the cave of convenience
😀 😀 😀

Still had to get across the Black Water iirc? Or something along those lines anyway. Think you're right about the gold being away sadly, would've been interesting to see how the Iron Bank would have responded otherwise
I'd happily have seen Jamie turned into ash, it felt like his time to go out but I guess the looks from Tyrion mean there will be some sort of family reunion. The dragon crossbow was a pretty epic fail overall.
It did feel like the Dothraki could have stopped a bit sooner and let the dragon burn up most of the army though, I reckon 90% of the army could have been crispy before they even needed to get involved with their tiny hand scythes. Between this and the attack on Casterly Rock, it's almost like Dany has forgotten that she can't exactly replace any of the unsullied and the dothraki who are killed. It's not like there's a recruiting office for either of her armies.
I do like that Sansa obviously thought she was a badass and now she's got a little brother who can see the past and future and a little sister who is not only pretty handy with shape shifting and poison but can beat one of the best fighters in the TV show.

They did need to get off the island though which seemed to happen almost immediately after they said "Oh yeah, all our boats are gone, apart from the ones we need to get the Dothraki to the mainland".
Tyrion - possible Targaryen links .
Awesome battle scene!
After Bron got de-horsed, I really wanted him to do the sensible thing & run away - rather than morph into the last action hero (which was a bit much). Although I guess that would've effectively put him on the sidelines for the rest of the show.

In GoT stylee I was expecting both Jaime and Bronn to snuff it several times. It would have properly pissed Cersei off.

Very mobile strike force too (once on dry land). All on horseback. And a dragon.
I think the 'Bron seeing his money drop on the floor and leaving it' scene, showed that his character has changed. From someone only motivated by money, to a dude who was now motivated by friendship. Backed up where he Hollywooded Jaime off his horse into the drink.

I think Jaime is going to be involved in Cersei's downfall, so they have to keep him around. Plus....phwoaaar!
I'm looking forward to the spin off movie.....
MegaBronn v UltraEuron

Nah, I thought it was entirely in character. Throughout the series Bronn has been motivated by one thing. The survival of Bronn.
He took one look at the money and thought "I'm not dying for that"
I don't think Bron is quite as un-killable as Euron.
There 's dodging fire, as we know fire is only hot in the fire, and being stabbed several times.

I think that's to show he's not just a money obsessed mercenary, and there is some loyalty in there
I thought it was the opposite and he was fully expecting to be rewarded for his deeds.

Nah. Yeah.

Well, dropped money not worth dying for, saving Jaime best chance of getting paid again. Can justify both actions on purely mercenary terms.
That didn't (still doesn't) look an easy battle to run away from - fair chance of them both being captured if they survive anyway,.
He took one look at the money and thought "I'm not dying for that"
I agree. My favourite bit of dialogue was Brienne to Arya....Who taught you to do that? Nobody!
Pretty sure Jon Snow could have drawn those pictures on the cave wall to get an army from Daenerys, would have only taken 5 minutes.
Who taught you to do that? Nobody!
Her wee Spanish coach dude must be turning in his grave though!
Her wee Spanish coach dude must be turning in his grave though!
Just so.
made me laugh that the Children & First Men were your classic, basic cave paintings (despite both cultures presumably being pretty sophisticated by that point) but the White Walkers were super detailed, with facial expressions etc just to remove any ambiguity over what they might've been!Pretty sure Jon Snow could have drawn those pictures on the cave wall to get an army from Daenerys, would have only taken 5 minutes.
(Would've been great if after the credits they flashbacked to show JS going round with a bit of chalk quickly doing the drawings, then winks at camera. Fade to black. 😆 )

What's going on with the Catspaw Dagger?
It's reintroduction to the show was a bit klunky to say the least.
It could only have been telegraphed as a more obvious Chekov's Gun if Q had shown up and said "Pay attention 007......" before explaining how useful it is for killing White Walkers.
Backed up where he Hollywooded Jaime off his horse into the drink.
Was it definitely Bron?

😆
What's going on with the Catspaw Dagger?
I'm reading the books from the start at the mo. The dagger is actually quite a big deal. We still don't know who was trying to top Bran, and with a dagger that points at both Littlefinger and Tyrion (that happens to be made of very useful Valyrian steel).
What's going on with the Catspaw Dagger?
Getting all the valyrian steel into play I guess.
While we are on about stretching the reality, there's no bloody way those dragon spears would fly straight and true. Without any real flights, they would tumble uselessly.
could've been Rickon Tarly, he seems to be proving himself at the mo so might be being setup for his own little story 😀Was it definitely Bron?
The Catspaw dagger has another name from what I've been reading also known as Dark Lady not unlike Aryas corrector ..and belonged to Agon and Robert Byratheon ... Also seen in the booked Sam was reading about Dragonglass ..will be an important bit of kit
Im also thinking Jamie will become Queen slayer as Cerci is going to get all pissy after the IornBank has a wob about missed repayments.
I've thought it's been building up to this for a while, would make for a very moving scene as he does love her. GOT always keeps you guessing though!Im also thinking Jamie will become Queen slayer
...the IornBank has a wob about missed repayments.
Hasn't the Iron Bank been paid off, as all the gold got to Kings Landing?
I'd be very surprised if they considered the debt paid before the gold was safely stashed in their vault back in Braavos!

Ahhh, fair enough. They've still got that rapid deployment thing down to a tee. I've also got to question Daenerys' tactics in immolating the grain wagons, as opposed to capturing them. Perhaps there were a tonne more...
I can definitely see Jaime and Cersei's story having a Vader-to-Palpatine-style denouement.
Poor Meera. She deserved better than that.
Anyone else find themselves hoping Daenerys got harpooned by Bronn? (not a euphemism)
And how come Jamie can just trot around a hectic battlefield looking pensive when it's all kicking off and people are getting killed left right and centre?
Anyone else find themselves hoping Daenerys got harpooned by Bronn? (not a euphemism
Yes.
Although that would make her name even more annoying.
Daenerys of the House Targaryen, the First of Her Name, The Unburnt, Queen of the Andals, the Rhoynar and the First Men, Queen of Meereen, Khaleesi of the Great Grass Sea, Protector of the Realm, Lady Regnant of the Seven Kingdoms, Breaker of Chains, Mother of Dragons and wearer of harpoons.

Are you really saying that you have a problem with the lack of aerodynamic accuracy* of the anti-dragon weaponry?

Blame wherever I copied and pasted from 8)

Nope! I was really hoping he got roasted actually, his character's one of the few that I've begun to like less. And with regards to him dropping the bag of gold I actually thought he was thinking "Oh shit, I've not got time to save that and my skin!"
Maybe he will do something to redeem himself though... Like keeping Jaime alive so that he can kill his sister/lover/queen 😉
Maybe he will do something to redeem himself though...
I suspect that he will change sides and go back and work for Tyrion who knows exactly what he's like.
could've been Rickon Tarly, he seems to be proving himself at the mo so might be being setup for his own little story
That'd make sense too... I expect his Dad to either turn or perish shortly tho.

If he turns, it'll probably be with this lad.

You mean Dickon?
😉
He's being set up to die horribly, I'm sure.
Pimpmaster JazzThat'd make sense too... I expect his Dad to either turn or perish shortly tho.
I think Randyll Tarly has to survive long enough to see Sam do something heroic meaining Randyll eats humble pie, then dies and Sam can have some kind of redemptive/heroic arc. Perhaps that might happen via the brother but I think it'd be more fitting that it happen father to son.

I think Dickon has to die so that Samwell can be Lord of Horn Hill when the Night's Watch is disbanded

Could be. Would that work with the amazing recovery of Ser Morment?
Just finally got round to watching it last night - cracker of an episode, one thing though - when Tyrion is saying "hurry up you facking idiot" etc. was it directed at her with the big lizard or that bloke that claps with one hand? I was wondering if he's as loyal to blondie as he says he is - blood's thicker than water & all that jazz - but mud's thicker than blood as the great prophet Sly Stone says, so I dunno - probably one of those deliberately ambiguous scenes to get you thinking... or was it just me? 😕
He categorically did mean his bro.
Catspaw dagger.....
We know what the Hound thinks of people that name their swords
We know what the Hound thinks of people that name their swords
Lots of people name their swords!
😀
If there was an oscar or bafta or whatever for best use of the c-bomb, then this just beats Diana Rigg.
Kind of confirms what we knew already PP 😛
My awesomeness confirmed.
Validation feels good. 😉
I crave chicken.
That's just what the internet (or possibly the books... never read 'em!) calls it though, isn't it? Not been called that on the show, has it?Catspaw dagger.....We know what the Hound thinks of people that name their swords
+1 genuine lol when he came out with that one 😆If there was an oscar or bafta or whatever for best use of the c-bomb, then this just beats Diana Rigg.
when Tyrion is saying "hurry up you facking idiot"
I thought he was saying "Flee you fool" aimed at his brother.
He might have said "flee you fool" before that, I couldn't quite make it out at first, so rewound it to try & make it out clearer - first time he (I think) said "hurry you forking idiot" as she's trying to pull the bolt out of the dragon / Jaime's eyeing her up while picking the spear out of some dead guy, then, as Jaime starts charging / she's still standing with her back to the action he says "you fahking idiot"
Could be he's only batting for team tits & wine, but his brother did save him being lynched after shooting his father with a crossbow mid-dump.
I thought he was saying "Flee you fool" aimed at his brother.
Yes, don't run towards the big fire breathing dragon, get yourself out of there. He might not have much time for the rest of the Lannisters but he owes Jaime his life.
