Just caught the new trailer last night, it looks like it could be a good one! 😀

We've been re-watching season 6 to remind us what's going on and it was the Battle of the Bastards last night, I'd forgotten just how good that episode was 😯

If you think it's starting to drag on you want to try reading the books! Started reading them in 1997 and still not finished! Book 6 still not out yet and we're nearly on season 7 on the TV series!

It's starting to drag on a bit.

I disagree. Six series in, and it keeps going and feeling fresh. Not many programmes have managed that. I'm going to be gutted when it's finished.

Yeah although there are some filler episodes they are mostly developing characters at least, it hasn't for me got to the stage I think he/they have run out of ideas and are just coming up with garbage before the final conclusion is done.

Jaime will be the one to kill Cersei, only then he will have gained full redemption. Recreating his killing of the mad king.
The hound will meet up with Arya and help her complete her kill list.

Underwood wins by actually being competent enough to make the plans work..

As a warm up though 60 episodes already there so that is just over one a day to recap through....

I wonder if we'll find out Jon's true heritage in this series? Will Cersei get her comeuppance, and WTF has Bran got to do with it all...

There's plenty of loose ends to develop yet, can't wait 😀

Winter is indeed coming ..... and in a twist of fate I'm getting a quote for the boiler replacement that evening too.

If he's not done and out in time for the Peter Dinklage song, I'll cut his throat and feed him to my cockapoo myself.

Keep up, winter is here and we know John Snow's lineage.

There's a one hour GOT's catch up on currently which is a great reminder of all the best bits with a few of actors discussing the story. Worth watching.

Watched the first episode of the first series last night to see what the fuss was about. I can see why it has a broad appeal to people who like both breasts and extreme violence. 🙂

That was just the crutch to get people watching a fantasy TV series. Some series get a bit low on the old nudity but the violence is normally there in its stead.

I thought we had already found out Jon's heritage via brans visions with the 3 eyed raven?

Bran will learn the knowledge behind the white walkers and pass that to Jon/similar via vision at one of the magic trees.

Sam tarly will learn the secret of dragon glass and how to make it and join up with denaryes to make it.

Arya will avenge cersei I reckon with the blessing of her sister

Yeah Jon's parentage explained (obliquely) thus making him the only viable hookup for Daenerys.

I think Jaime will be the one to kill Cersei. He did not look happy at the end of the last season.

Also, they already know the secret of dragon glass (that it can kill white walkers) but it can't be made; it's naturally occurring (although I suppose he might figure out how to get a load more of it). I reckon Sam will be the one to save the day at the end (possibly making up for his earlier cowardice via some form of heroic sacrifice)

Hopefully Bran will do something interesting as he's had one of the most tedious storylines so far! (albeit with some cool bits that have furthered the plot/explained stuff)

Intriguing. The one thing that GoT seems to do very well is what no-one expects tho...

Watched end of series 6 last night. That was... interesting.

Who will ride the dragons? Daenerys, Jon and Tyrion?

Daenerys and Jon have Targaryen blood and there are hints that Tyrion might too ("You're no son of mine")

Well he wouldn't have would he...I mean he's just walked in to find his Son (the King) has committed suicide after his much adored wife was blown up! I'm not even going to try and work out the plot....I never know whats happening in the next few minutes, let alone a series! 😕

That 1 hr catch up prog btw, explains a few details in the last episode of S6 that we might not have fully grasped.

I watched the first season, so just to get up to speed for Season 7, can anyone tell me if anything happened in the intervening 5 seasons apart from various gangs of people wandering around the countryside, periodically chopping lumps off each other, with a sprinkling of t*** and a** ??

What a cracking opening scene 😀

This looks like it's going to be a corker of a series. Favourite character has to be the Hound atm.

SPOILER of sorts!

If you pause it on the scene where Sam is reading the book about dragon glass, you too can read the book... it has some answers and interesting implications.

Watched it on NowTV so no ads, it seemed to be over in 10 mins.

Spoilers follow.

Enjoyed that, opening scene was awesome, I was a bit confused - I was sure that geezer was already dead...

Ed Sheeran - why? I sort of expected another band of young and stupid solders to try to get a bit rough with Arya and regret it, for about 2 seconds, but no - a nice little chat around the fire.

I find it a bit confusing at times, but he saw the dead army marching towards a Castle where the wall meets the sea. It's unmanned or lightly manned at the moment so it makes for a good crossing point for the dead army or it may also be the location of the source of Dragon Glass, about the only thing that can kill them, Sam noticed it when he was reading the old books.

I can accept dragons, faceless men, white walkers, hordes of the undead etc etc, but Ed Sheeran sharing "a new one" round the campfire?? 😯 😮 really is a possibly shark jumping step too far.

I mean Wilco Johnson as executioner was great casting. Though hang on, I could see a scene involving the two of them playing out pretty well...

Let's all just hope that next episode see Ayra riding into town somewhere with no more mention of bumping into a ginger busker em route and we call all just forget about it.

one thing I think/hope it means is that he's gonna stop just bumbling around the countryside, find his purpose & take the fight to the Night King!

Ed Sheeran - why? I sort of expected another band of young and stupid solders to try to get a bit rough with Arya and regret it
A bit cheesy but it shows her that even her "enemies" can be normal/decent people.

Enjoyed that.

Wasn't the Hounds vision of the same castle referenced by Jon Snow - he sent either the 'disloyal' houses or the Wildlings to guard, can't remember which. But then, he knows nothing.

I enjoyed it. To a few moments to foresee the Frey scene outcome. Now beginning to wonder about the future stories again.

As for general theories ... currently really like the idea of the Bran = Brandon the Builder

and that Denearys (sp?) is actually the baddie of Westeros that everyone else (inc white walkers ) needs to conquer.

It was like a magic eye thingy, you sort of had to focus just beyond the flames then it all popped out in 3D. Amazing.

More scene stealing bad arsery from Lady Mormont.

Can someone remind me if the explanation for how The Hound recovered and fell back in with the Brotherhood has been given or if we're still waiting to find this out.

Short version we know is lovejoy found him while scouting/nicking antiques for his community and when he turned out not to be dead gave his the second chance. Then some of the brotherhood (I think) slaughtered the guys and the hound had a word. Decided to stay with them for something to do.

Jesus - that cameo - there was almost a comedy turn to camera moment!
No more of that please.

Enjoyed a bit more of Broadbent.

Thought the dialogue at Winterfell was a bit lacking.

Nice to hear Sir Jorah again.

Overall 8/10

For me winterfell felt deliberately cold and tense (that and Sophie Turner isn't that good at times) Masie Williams wouldn't be taking orders from. Jon Snow
