It appears to be a good idea but held up by the current Govt.
What do you guys think?
Does anyone care?
My experience of the existing NPs in Scotland is that it will be of no benefit, merely introducing some more bureaucracy. The final decision should rest with the (full time) residents.
^ what scotroutes says.
I also say leave it to the full time residents. My view is that local communities are often not a priority for such as RSPB NTS etc. While a park authority is different from those quangos I'm not sure the end result is any better.
Having said that I spent a lot of time in my childhood in Glentrool and hope to be visiting again as soon as it's appropriate
I've heard nothing of this, so I don't hold an opinion. However isn't the point of a National Park that it's for the benefit of the nation rather than just the local residents, who might end up inconvenienced but ultimately it's for the greater national good (i.e. more restrictive planning)
