Brown onions, home grown, very plentiful. House smells of onions.
Not really a consensus on a good recipe on internet - just looking for recommendations for a tasty chutney recipe that will store for 6month plus.
Doesn't matter if leaning towards meat or cheese - I'll only give it away anyhow!

chop and freeze ! handful straight from frozen everytime you make pasta sauce/soup/whatever you need them for
Chop them up, fry them off in a saucepan, add some water and a load of sugar. Throw in a handfull of sultanas and whatever herbs you have to hand (thyme, sage and/or rosemary). Bubble for 20 mins or 1/2 an hour. Pour into jamjars sterilised with boiling water (still hot so they don't crack). You can put apples or tomatoes in at the frying stage for alternative flavours.
