This was getting a lot of news coverage here in Ireland today. Hats of to this man for putting a smile on peoples faces at his own funeral from beyond the grave.

Bloody hell, you'd have to know your audience! A shock like that could have seen a few older mourners joining him rather sooner than expected.

I'd kinda like to think I'd check out in a similar manner. Good on him.

Brilliant.

We bid goodbye to my Dad recently.
We walked his coffin in to the Steptoe tune. 🙂
He would have found it hilarious.
His exit song was Monty Python's Bright Side of Life.

Oh that's class.  Step Dad's Mum had Bright Side of life played at her funeral.  Most thought it hilarious but a few of the older more religious members of the congregation didn't know where to look.

I'm having the Imperial March played as my coffin is carried in (actually its going to be a photon torpedo casing) and the end credits theme music to Flash Gordon at the end of the ceremony.

My grandfather was an identical twin (they lived a few hours away from each other for most of their lives) and we didn't realise how many people didn't know until he went to his brother's funeral and a few old dears nearly fainted!

That's utterly brilliant.

I'm sure the crematorium staff have had it a thousand times, but this is obviously the best music to play as the box heads off past the curtain.

Maybe 15 years ago now we lost a young lad I worked with, he was in his mid-20s. His exit song was Tight Fit's "The Lion Sleeps Tonight." The look on the vicar's face was priceless.

My cousin (Wedding photographer) has been asked to photograph a funeral before...
Apparently you can now have live web streaming of ceremonies etc
( which seems a good idea if you are not able to be there)

My parents went to a funeral a long, long, long time ago in very rural Scotland, there had been monsoon levels of rain, as the coffin went in there was an audible splash and somebody said, quietly, well if she’s no deid the noo she will be soon

We had the original Tour De France Channel 4 Theme Tune to my mates funeral, fitting, but very sad as he was only 53.

I went to an old friends funeral last week. I was surprised by how many people were using their phones to video at the crematorium.

Nobody else seemed to think it was surprising.
