I've seen some lovely ones on X recently "How England Was" featuring crusaders playing a hybrid cricket/croquet game outside Greggs with Spitfires and Red Arrows overhead.

CoPilot Image Designer in Bing. I think its DALL-E 3 under the bonnnet.
@thols2 🤣 nice.
It will replace you at work they say…yeah. Not yet though.
"Not yet," indeed.
I once told one of my apprentices, "today is the oldest you've ever been, but the youngest you will ever be" and I actually watched his brain bluescreen.
I think this is kinda the same though. What we're seeing today with AI, it's the best it's ever been (and funny), but it's the worst it will ever be.
I think I may have broken it.
I asked for a diagram of a fish riding a bicycle a few minutes ago and it's still thinking about it.....
Can I just clarify...
Naturabluntus?...is what exactly?
but it’s the worst it will ever be.
without having a human's understanding of the world, it's never going to get any better than this. AI doesn't understand or know what a plug is, and TBF to it; that still 'looks' like a plug.
Without that state of "knowing" this is as good as it gets.
We’re using it quite a lot at work at the minute for creative graphics for bids. There’s a definite nack to asking the right question, or the question in the right style to get what you want. But it’s pretty powerful when it works well, which is generally most of the time. Sometimes it’s fun just to chuck any old sh1t in and see what happens…

Utterly useless. No STW big hitter actually rides bikes.

I used a free one a while back to give me ideas on how to style the airdam for my DS 911

Not so sure I would trust it for engineering accuracy though

Just remember, it doesn't need to be as good as you, it just needs to be good enough that someone at the top decides the drop in quality is worth it for the cost savings!

Forget it. Couldn’t get image to load properly
Not my work, or indeed the person who generated it, but this made me laugh...it's almost plausible!

This, apparently, is me.

It can't get foot position on bicycles right can it.
Image AI = amazing
Text AI = amazing
Image AI trying to add labels = random gibberish with half-formed letters
You'd think someone would think to combine the two... make the text separate and add it to the image rather than (as it seems) having the text part of the image.

Seems to have trouble with the whole concept of pedals!
Yeah, most of the images with bicycles don’t have pedals, weird.

given that some of the most powerful tech firms in the world are trying exactly this, and are doing rather poorly at it, suggests that it’s somewhat tricky!!

You have wireless gear shifts, why not bluetooth handlebars?
It is AI so it must be right
I’m still trying to work out how the two bikes behind the blokes cooking pizza seem to have six saddles between them.

Still no pedals 🤔
Although they're still better approximations to what a bike is than that project from a couple of years ago that produced photorealistic versions of sketches people had drawn of what they thought a bike looked like (sorry, no link handy).
Because it doesn't know what anything is.
Even AI is confused...

I saw this exhibition in Hobart in late 2019. Absolutely brilliant.
Wow. That's... oddly mesmerising.
Wonder what that chain at the bottom left is going off to do.
