I am due to have a trans-perineal biopsy - so called "template" biopsy, and I was wondering if anyone can tell me what to expect? I had the plain vanilla "staple gun up the bum" job but it was not conclusive, so now the doc wants to "get to the bottom of the problem". I don't think the pun was deliberate.
War stories, anyone?
That could be a pain in the arse.
But seriously, no experience of the procedure; are you asking about side effects?
Anaesthetised?
Yeah, anaesthetised.
I'm wondering how long it takes to walk straight again afterwards 🙁 I imagine that the other effects are as before - blood in all liquids and going for a poo ending up with the bathroom looking like an abattoir 🙁
Things are a little tender afterwards, I was off the bike for a couple of weeks to placate SWMBO. Blood in urine not too bad and probably better than the staple-gun version, didn't have anything in stools worth noting.
Did you not have the 'new' MRI procedure first as that's now the approved way of doing things (though it's costly at £7k) to minimise patient distress and the need for a theatre and all the machines that go 'ping'?
