Currently sitting in a “global chain coffee emporium”
After ordering a simple “white americano, small, cold milk” (as I always do)
Why oh why do they insist on filling the cup up right to the very top, with 1.3mm of space between lip and coffee..... and no bloody milk!!
And the inevitable walk back to the counter to ask “pour half of that away, at least leave me some room for the milk you forgot to put in”
I’m so annoyed, I want to write to my PM and complain that these are the simple things we should get right, not prattle on about MP’s being shouted at.

it annoys me as well.
I think it's because lots of people make coffee like they make tea, ie, just a splash of milk. whereas IME (by which I mean, me obviously) most people who like milk in their coffee, they like quite a bit more than a splash.
but Molly's right, life's too short for getting cross about it.
It's people like you with ya moaning and bleating that make coffee shops give me 2/3rds of a cup when I ask for a black Americano. Nope fill it to the ruddy top! 🙂
OP. An Americano is a black coffee. If you ordered a carbonara with beef then you'd get a normal carbonara and likely no beef, because carbonara doesn't contain beef. Same principle. Try asking for a flat white. It's what you're after.
