Though motoring journos are calling it the 'ugliest show car ever' (one describing it as "the misbegotten spawn of an affair between a piggy bank and a bread bin"... I rather like it... what say you STW?

It looks like the new Mini Countryman.

But nicer.

It's got to be their modern take on a H-Van I reckon.

I quite like it. I'd like it even better if it had doors.

Possibly one of the most beautiful motor vehicles ever produced.

Looks ugly in a good way to me.
I like the old ones too though.

Hmmm... Citroen have had some really interesting concept cars in the last few years. Not so sure about this one, but on the whole, I reckon a lot of the sports car/ supercar crowd could learn a lot from the likes of Citroen's design lot.
Have you seen the latest Pagani? It's completely awful - one of the laziest designs I've ever seen. Modern Ferraris are mostly rubbish and, disappointingly, Lotus have churned out some right guff recently too...

I quite like it, though in typical show-car fashion the windows are waaaay too small for any practical use and it's got the obligatory hideous/oversized wheels.

i like it!

any car that has the balls to be different from the generic boxes on the road is good

sad thing is all these concept cars get diluted down to blandorama by teh time they are sold

That was my first thought, but I didn't want to be the first to mention it in case it was only me that was seeing it. đŸ™‚

The grille & surround doesn't look very citroen-esque.

It's got a big smiley face on the front, I think it's perfect for a conversion to an ice cream van.

Back seats transform into bed. Perfect vehicle for weekend epics, surely?

I can't decide. One part of me recoils into my chair, the other loves it. How odd.

It has nice curves, which most modern cars dont.

Hmm, think I prefered the first prototype:
[img] [/img]

In all honesty I like it, but:
I wish designers would try and do something original.

New MINI, Fiat 500, new Beetle etc are all based on previous designs.

The originals looked that way because of brilliant engineering and design, not because someone with an expensive pair of sunglasses and a black polo neck had spent the weekend trawling through old brochures.
In design terms, they're bankrupt pastiches, compromises with no engineering or dsign integrity whatsoever.

It's like a diet coke can on it's side, balanced on four wheels.

Do not want.

like it here. i'd rather see companies doing something to be proud of rather than generic eric. as for the mini range, NO.

Just needs a banjo string holding the grill motif to the sump and it's a shiny cock.

It is odd, but good. The new MINI, in contrast, is odd and crap. Looks like it's been hit with a spade.

It's Citroen and Bristol for me.

lead me to assume we sing from a very similar automotive hymn sheet.

What's the point in the back wheels pod thing structure? They stick out the back, and that's space you could use to stick a bit more cabin on. I'd like to see a model with windows all down the side before making my mind up, too.

I'm reserving judgement for the time being. It's stylishly ugly, which I like if it's carried out well, but I'd want to see it in the metal to really say yay or nay. It all depends on how the proportions work full size. I really do like CitrĂ´en's current styling, they are really getting some nice looking cars out now, the DS3 is lovely, in stark contrast to the bloody Mini.

I would like it if it weren't a [s]Lemon[/s] Citroen.

Now if Skoda made it to go with the Yeti...

MrsJulianA says it's fugly, however.

Also, I never really approved of corrugated anything to make things out of (earlier Citron van, Ford Trimotor etc). Not the most attractive of materials.

Oh, and Tubik? What's that all about? A cross between tubular and cubic? Whoever came up with that?!

Except shipping containers and ribbed condoms. And my smooth washboard sounds crap.

@jackthedog

Yeah, you might have a point there. Except I'm not sure whether any sort of washboard can sound good...

LOL at the drivers's face.

Remember that the Berlingo was originally a concept car back in 1996, and look how popular they've been. I'm a convert.

That's the first vehicle i've seen that incorporates the representation of a foreskin! Just trust the French to come up with that!
