Sky seem to be offering good deals to new customers (as do virgin), however I've been with Virgin for years for phone, boradband and TV. If you have changed how easy was it? Sky claim they will install within 5 days for TV and about 10 days for phone and broadband. I don't want to pay for two services, not even for a couple of weeks, so did anybody manage to time it so virgin got taken out ans sky installed on the same day?? I need to give a months notice to Virgin, but Sky offers often change in that time, or do I grab the £100 M and S voucher whilst its there?

Thanks

MM

If you call virgin and ask to disconnected they generally will offer you a better deal to stay with them.

I personally wouldn't go from Virgin to Sky for any amount of convenience or money.

Broadband speeds are slow, phone deals don't appear great and the TV is basically the same.

I thought any 'new customer' deals were only valid for a short period, like 3 months half price or something, so I'm not sure it saves a lot in the long run. I never looked back after switching the other way from Sky to VM.

Went over to sky, initially for costs, but over time the price has risen to aove what i was paying Virgin, will be swapping back as soon as my year is up. Really regret moving over. Virgin were steep, but Sky is worse.

VM is £40 a month for TV (60 channels, including the Tivo box rental), phone and Broadband (10Mb), which I don't think is too bad.

Good luck canceling your Virgin service! It took over a month for me to get them to cancel my subscription and subsequently refund me as I had already sent back the box and moved out of my flat. Then a month after that i got a bill from them for £0.02! What a joke...

I think I'd just give my notice, cancel my DD once I'm paid up for the notice period, and then let them get their knickers in a twist about who owes what. I was in a similar situation with Telewest, years ago. As long as they don't owe you money, then you're in a good position.
