Stolen from a long running thread on Pistonheads.

So, what frivolous purchases of stuff you don't need have you made recently?

Me, one of these.

Not frivolous as £39.50 at tesco, and makes better drinks/more controllable than the very expensive tassimo we have in work......

on and on, decent wee speakers those

I bought some LED lights that go on your wheel valves as an ad came up on my Facebook feed that said they were free, just pay shipping.

After I bought them I read the comments that they are crap, don't fit presta valves and most that have turned up not working. So hey, lesson learned. Don't drink half a bottle of Monkey Shoulder and play in the internets.

I bought a new helmet. Doesn't sound frivolous, but I already own 6 & the only reason I got this one is that the colour matches my bar tape more than the one I bought a month ago... What a loser.

A green limited edition k-tech garmin mount for my green and white road bike. It was from Australia, as that was the only place I could find a green alloy ( no plastic Rubbish) garmin bracket.

It's green

Aldi 'special buys' aisle; end of thread. May not be pricey per se, but regularly doubles the cost of my 'bargain' shops... 😆 😯

I eat my lunch with a titanium sport most days. Frivolous but I often find myself marveling at its perfection.

Outdoor jackets. I am slowing collecting everything Arcteryx and Black Diamond make. I have cupboards full of ones I'll probably use once and then just sell on Ebay....

A "happy birthday to me" session on Amazon netted:

Sony NW-A27HNB
[img] [/img]

FiiO Mont Blanc E12
[img] [/img]

Logitech Ultimate Ears UE 900s
[img] [/img]

Wouldn't be too bad except I have 32Gb and 64Gb iPod Touches and headphones coming out of my... er... ears.

Nipper can't be as bad as my brother's British and German WWII paratrooper helmet collection, think he ended up with around 5 or 6 due to over enthusiastic (alcohol induced) bids.

The Curta is divine! I truly have no need for one, but the need to have one is very strong!

Hope hubs, just because they're anodised and shiny.

XT hubs are just as good and cheap as on CRC.

Oh, and there's the pair of model windmills I just bought:

They're pretty frivolous. Though so was the working model of a Welsh slate quarry.

Well if they are the old school charger type you'd better put a 64 on the for sale page. Not that they are worth much these days 😀

Just eBay - around £100 I think.

Oops, sorry. Yes, I do have a bit of a Concorde jet engine about somewhere - loads of other junk in the shop too, the model paper making machine is probably the worst. Though I didn't actually spend money on that.

*Remembers the titanium exhaust manifold from a Renault F1 V8 (used in a caterham). The welds are exquisite.

I've got a large lump of Honda transmission on my desk. It makes a nice pen holder. Titanium, must have cost £1k's.
