After a decent covering of snow this morning, it has mostly gone now the sun has come out - North Nottinghamshire

However, temperatures for tonight are forecast for minus 9c round here which is pretty extreme - Think that Sat morning Ride will be on the mountain bike rather than Gravel...

Spiked tyres?

The ground round here is saturated, it's going to be a skating rink in the morning, but then up to 7 degrees and 14 degrees Sunday apparently!

I'm down Derby way and forecasts seem to suggest -5 to -9.

Was meant to be meeting a mate in the Peak tomorrow, but don't fancy driving up having seen the state of the main roads today, let alone minor ones after a freezing night

its been -8 every day this week at ours at 8am - down to -10 in when i head down to the river.

its a nice crisp dry cold with minimal wind- if we got winters like this it would be great.

I got all excited for a second, but it's only forecast -1 here overnight.

Not cold enough for frozen trails tomorrow morning IME.

Having been out attempting to ride in the east side of the peak this morning, I wouldn't bother. It was a beautiful walk, but the bike was pointless. Minions were just about OK on the minor roads that had had tractors and 4x4 traffic - but its that really heavy wet snow that turns to slime as soon as its compressed. Off road was hard going - I followed some 4x4 tracks along Houndkirk Road. Then found the (very stuck) truck trying to dig its way out. After that it was a walk. Knee deep, sometimes crotch deep in places. Even pushing the bike my front mudguard kept clogging up and jamming the front wheel. Add an icy crust to that after tonight's freeze...!

My bikes staying in the shed tonight; lots of potential slippery stuff about I might not see. It will start to get warm next week, then I'll release the beast.

Depends who you believe for where I am in South Sheffield. Met Office say -5, BBC say -11. That's on top of 6" of snow that's still on the road outside.

6° just now -2°forecast for tonight. With blue skies and hardly any snow at low levels it's taps aff weather here within spitting distance of Ben Nevis
I'm told that the higher-up routes on the Ben are in superb condition though .

It's actually quite pleasant in South Manchester. No snow, but sunny. Just been out washing the cars ! No doubt totally frozen tonight with -6 predicted.

Think it’s going to be horrendous. A lot of south facing stuff has melted here in W Yorkshire this afternoon but there is still a huge amount of slush around and -9C predicted. It’s going to be a total ice ring - on or off road.

I'm in Leeds and I agree. Not going near a bike tomorrow morning, much as the sunny forecast is tempting me!

-9 shortly here so I'll pop outside as I don't think I've ever been exposed to that temperature before.

It’s been really cold here in the Highlands all week but the days have been wall to wall sunshine. Roads are bone dry so they are staying ice free even though the temperatures have been down to -12 C. So minus temperature bike rides are fine with me as long as you layer up. Dry low risk of ice. It’s that combination of wet and cold that’s risky.
