The Exorcist (yeah I know it was the 70s, but it's the best horror film ever)

Aliens and The Thing. Both at the more action end of the horror scale, but still with plenty of horror moments!

American Werewolf in London - I can still watch that film.

A lot of the 80's horror films haven't aged well! 🙂

And Aliens - still awesome.

I loved the streets they used in a lot of the 80s films, large lawns out front, white picket fence, Dutch colonial style houses...

The Hunger.

Very 80s with peak Catherine Deneuve bonus content.

You could run her a nice relaxing bath and let her nod off for a bit...

there was a remake last year although not seen it yet & it only got mediocre reviews!

Nightbreed
never saw this although played the Amiga game 😃 Apparently Clive Barker was really disappointed with it though; there's a directors cut which came out a few years ago which was more in-keeping with his original vision so I really must track that down.

Although it cam out in 91 I would like an honourable mention for a little know British comedy/Horror B-Movie gem known as The Revenge of Billie the Kid

https://www.imdb.com/title/tt0102783/

I doubt many have seen it but it was filmed at a very nearby farm to us. Legend has it they had to clean up the whole farm before the actors and crew would set foot on the property, even though the film needed it to be a proper shithole!

If you are a fan of the genre I would recommend seeking it out for a giggle

Yeah, yeah, yeah, we all watched it for the horror content and David Bowie's acting ability and not the lesbian seduction scene. 😀

wasn't a direct remake, but more of another story within the source material with the coenobites and hell priest more androgynous and less 80's S&M club

Yeah, it was more true to the novella than the film.
