Stayed at Port Bourgenay a couple of times, and it's pretty nice.
And +1 for Carnac as well. Very nice.

(East coast?)

Ile de Re

Been there 5 times now. Opens onto a really nice beach. Loads of cycle paths for family cycling. Each town has a cool food market, if you like sea food, esp oysters, you'll be well away.
