Is it just me ... after receiving two nice letters from my local cable TV supplier in a month, my Freeview signal goes off the air - much retuning ensues and still nothing - two days later we have ITV and 4 back but BBC are still nowhere to be found. I then receive a third invite from the bearded one to switch to cable for a small monthly fee, conspiracy? The local area was cable ready a few years ago - log onto the BBC advice site and they tell me I can't receive Freeview. Now we are not in a far flung corner of the UK - quite the opposite - bang in the middle - yep - conspiracy.
BBC digital explanation? It seems every time we have a sunny day - our digital signal is lost - utter, utter rubbish bring back analogue - and Richard and Judy, and Trumpton and Spangles
the bbc don't run the transmitters
where do you live? - anything substantial between you and the transmitter?
Or aerial/cable knackered? Or even freeview box knackered? We used to get poor signal quality, has been fine so far this year though, haven't changed anything...
TBH - I'd just get a cheap sat dish and rx and go Freesat
New areial, new cable, and check alignment of aeriel.
Rescan box,
New box,
Dont buy a tv licence, then when the man from tv licencing comes round ask him to fix it for you.
new cable aerial and alinement checked = £££, two tv's both have separate box, both lost signal ... lots of rescans ... so it is just me then ... 🙁
try a tv amplifier, i need one on the second tv.
I am not sure if this helps but my TV keeps reminding me that the signal is going to switch digital totally by Sept ...
Pisses me off that I can't install IE9 on my Windows 3.1 machine.
The sooner they switch off analogue nationally, the better it'll be for everyone, cos we'll actually have some bandwidth and power to play with. In the meantime, get your aerial checked / upgraded.
I reckon I'd have cable in a flash if I was offered it

Well if you don't tell me anything about where you live etc. - it's very likely to be just you
Where do you live?
Do you know which transmitter you current aerial is pointing at?
Do neighbours have aerials on particularly long poles or have them pointing in various directions?
Are there any big buildings/structures/hills between you and the tx?

It's to make you feel bad about wasting a nice day by not being out on your bike.
I had to retune mine about 3 times on wednesday - however now I get freeview HD - Nice!!
DrP
We're in Northampton, Sandy Heath is our designated transmitter and it's a brand new aerial on a long pole, and like everyone else pointing the same way. The area switched over a year+ ago the poor reception only started recently ... yes we have an amplifier ... better off riding my bike in the sun 😀
Check with your neighbours if their reception has changed.
In Newport mine has been terrible the last few day, low signal or no signal and having to rescan for channels a few times a day.
Same in Herts over the last few days. C4 just starts breaking up all the time.
Could it be the remnants of the solar flare? Was supposed to interfere with signals etc?
We have freesat and its fine!
