Colin Furze's sponsorship blub peaked my interest, and it gets a few good reviews that I can see. Does anyone here use it and would recommend it?

Use case is - very much a beginner, but they have user guidance by the looks of it. I'd be wanting to play with a very modest monthly amount and not do anything daft like transferring my pension into their SIPP. FCA regulated which gives me reasonable confidence the risks are the normal investment risks and not that some dodgy dealer is going to rob my millions* I'm a big fan of the Fintech banks, (Monzo is the one I use) so this app driven service appeals there too.

*I'm not expecting to become the next Warren Buffet.

Investment options are limited, prefer Trading 212 for straight buying / selling of stocks / ETF’s.

That said right now not sure I’d trust either with my Pension.

I use it, I like it. It is slightly limited choice but for what I want the ease of use trumps it, I'm not a big investor and Freetrade is really just where I play around with a grand or so for fun, serious longer term savings are with Vanguard funds.

I've been using it for 6 months or so. It's very easy to use and on the odd occasion I've had to speak to customer service (to ask them questions about my account, not because of a problem) they've replied very quickly. It's a thumbs up from me. You have to pay a monthly fee if you want to use the ISA facility (£6 IIRC) or access to US stocks (£9.99, also includes the ISA) but for UK stocks in a general account you can use the free version.

Freetrade also don't appear to be doing shady things like restricting buys or lending out shares like Trading 212 (and RobinHood in the USA) have been criticised for doing.

I don't know what the Colin Furze offer is, but if I refer a friend, we both get a free share. I've had a couple worth £6 and £10 so better than nothing! If anyone wants a referral link please PM me.

Thanks Gents,

Think I'll probably give it a go. Colin Furze offer was for a free share, so I'll probably hit you up for a referral @Superficial then we both get one. 👍

Furze offer is a free share between 3 and 30 quid I think plus a draw to win a 500 share.

I've been on it for about 3 months now as I wanted to have a play.
you can fund the account up-to £250 with apple pay, any more you need to fund it from a bank account. currently down £5, very quickly realised shares are for the long term thing.

Yep, if you dump £4k cash into your S&S ISA you get 3% interest. Which pays for that £9.99 a month fee. So all your trades are free.

Ive just started watching the Colin Furze Tunnel

How have HSE not come down on him like a collapsed tunnel?
The geology does appear to be "stable enough to get away with it". but then hes down there with a hose!
The bunker excavation was bad enough, and the underground Beach hut one made me feel all sort of sick.

If hes had professional input, he hasn't mentioned it.

one day hes going to get buried (prematurely)

The lack of PPE and general dicking around with scary power tools makes me wince - without wishing to sound like a jaded old Production Engineer who did years on the tools i think he sets a poor example to his audience.

He's a clever and talented guy but I'd hate to live next door to him.
