You don't need to be an 'investor' to invest in Singletrack: 6 days left: 95% of target - Find out more
Last time the Sky "engineer" left, as a passing comment, he said that we could use our Sky digi box to watch freesat once our sky subscription has expired. I assume that this means that the viewing card is invalid or had a stop put on it.
Is this true? Anyone had any experience. We have several good digi boxes, a 4 way LNB on the dish and it would be nice to run freesat in the bedroom. The idea is to save buying a freesat box really.
Your experiences gratefully recieved.
Yes you can do this, I think the card is £20 from SKY. You can't record anything though unless you pay them £10 /month.
He probably meant the channels which are free on SKY.

You may need to buy a £25 viewing card to get it to work, not sure if your old one would work-ours did until they 'updated' them

Hope this helps.

Sky and freesat are the same - boxes and all. Just a different card controlling what you are allowed to watch.
However Sky+ won't work.
