You don't need to be an 'investor' to invest in Singletrack: 6 days left: 95% of target - Find out more
I can’t find a dedicated thread on this company / product so thought I’d start one.
FreeFlow are developing a small frame mounted eBike motor solution:
- that can easily be integrated by manufacturers
- doesn’t ruin the look of bikes
- can be disassembled and serviced by high street bike shops
The leadership team include the likes of Dave Hemming (MD) who many will know from old school mtb mags.
On the website the prototype hardtail mtb looks pretty good - it certainly doesn’t look like an eBike at first glance.
Does anyone know any other stuff that might be interesting / has anyone ridden one of the prototypes?

Dyna_ti mentioned them in this thread but there wasn't much discussed.
Pic is minus battery pack but definitely looks good.
If it's serviceable that's awesome. Even better if it can be stripped and rebuilt at home.
Had a very brief chat with Dave about them at the Malverns, got the impression they were looking to be a motor/battery system supplier for other brands, with lots of interest and positive things happening.
The frame mounted battery looks crap but if manufacturers build for it then they'll do the usual fat downtube thing I'm sure.
I like it, no faff and no 20yr old monocoque throwback.
It's a neat system. I've ridden it and I liked it. It's pretty small and discreet, like a lot of those systems, it's normally the battery that makes it look clunky.
I'm not sure I'd describe them as a startup though. They've been around for at least 10 years.

Did Neil MacMartin not start it many years ago

Yep. Not involved now though. (I don't think).
Starling cycles have been working with them for a number of years on prototype ebikes using there motors....

As I understand it he's stepped back from the day to day running to get on with other projects, but is still the major shareholder.
What that exactly means and his actual role in it I dont know. Hope all is ok on that front.
I'd imagine he's perhaps just letting folk who know better run with it. Quite possible he took it as far as he could and now has other folk to actively develop it.
Entirely speculation but his lack of involvement needn't be a bad thing.
Nice guy though, went on a few of the shop rides BITD.
Does look interesting, very neat in the packaging, when’s sram buying them.
I wonder why they aren't on bikes yet?
In a crowded marketplace I find it hard to see what the advantages are over the players already in the market with well developed motors and its also going to be very hard to compete on price with the high quality conversion kits available.
yes it looks small and neat but is that enough?
Id be more interested if it went on standard frames
