I was given a lovely 2 station fracino coffee machine and grinder as part of a deal - its a long and lovely story for another day. I plan to use this at home as a journey into the world of coffee. Is all the hassle going to be as good as my caffetiere?

I've been up all night trying to work out how it works and i am getting there. I need to go to bed now, but wondering does anyone have a operating or maintenance manual for it? Or experience that I can share. It can make 2 cups at a time, has a frother ans a hot water outlet. The grinder is a separate unit and a project for another day.

I've had some "fun" with leaks, misoperation and working it out from scratch.

Give them a call they are really helpful. I fit the dual fuel classic in vehicles at work great machines. Adrian is the owner but you will probably get through to Hayley just ask them 01213285757. They are a British manufactured/assembled product, they even sell them to the Italians.

Nothing like a caffetiere - different, not better.

It sounds like a commercial machine rather than domestic. Probably an expensive way to make the small quantity of coffee you'll have at home. Nice, but a bit overkill unless you live on a commuter route and sell coffee from the kitchen window!

TooTall - totally agree with you, but I'm just seeing how it goes. A bit of a challenge. I do lots of stuff with schools and clubs, so if it doesn't work out at home, we could use it as a fundraiser for school/clubs.

I came very close to buying their baby "domestic" model about a year ago to replace my aging Gaggia Classic. Spoke to the guys at the factory a couple of times and they were really helpful and enthusiastic. We moved house in the end, so dropping £600 on a coffee machine became an extravagance too far. Still on the list of things to do though!
