You don't need to be an 'investor' to invest in Singletrack: 6 days left: 95% of target - Find out more
I usually just buy the basic versions and play the game with what I have or can get without paying anything else. But are the sooper-dooper versions ever worth the extra for? For this game it'd be for the expansion packs rather than any car packs, and that means an extra £30 for the Ultimate edition.
So I suppose what I'm asking is are the expansions cheaper to buy individually when they come out?
Yes, I'd like opinions on this too.
I basically stopped playing games for many years (went from an original XBox to an XBox One X recently), and the whole DLC thing I find completely baffling and really off-putting. I bought Forza Motorsport 7 but have hardly played it as I found it completely overwhelming. I am hoping Horizon 4 will be more accessible but have my doubts!
Season passes usually work out cheaper buying as a deal, good thing is companies seem to be moving slowly back to free DLC.
Hmm, It's a lot for two expansion packs and Bond cars. £80 quid for a game. Although £71 on G2Play.net with the standard edition at £49 which is a bit less in difference £22 (Windows 10 versions)
Dunno about FH4, but the season pass for FH3 gave two expansion packs which were ace and saved a couple of quid over buying individually. I don't bother with car packs personally, it's not like there's a shortage in-game.
Price of the Ultimate Edition is basically the price of standard plus the expansion packs, but you get the car packs and VIP for free. We'll end up getting the expansions on release day anyway.
My 8 year old and to a lesser extent my 10 year old are car nuts so it seemed natural to put an extra big smile on their face.
Also...Bond. Car. Pack....
I'll play it as much as them anyway.
I downloaded the fh4 demo on Xbox one X the other day, graphically it's pretty, but gameplay wise it's just the same old stuff.
Also I hear it will be available on ms gamepass,so if you subscribe to that don't bother paying for the game separately as you'll be able to download on release day.
I have also been pondering this.. It looks amazing and I have FH1, 2 and 3 so will definitely be getting it. I usually just get the standard edition (of any game) but I must admit I am tempted by the day 1 ultimate edition.
I've just treat myself to a Thrustmaster TX wheel, pedal set and Playseat Challenge so I'm already in bother the Finance Director so what's another £80.. :o)
but you get the car packs and VIP for free.
What's "VIP"?
Also I hear it will be available on ms gamepass,
I'd heard that also. Reckon I'll get the free Gamepass trial, then buy FH4 a few weeks later when it's £20 everywhere. I'm ****ed if I'm paying fifty quid for a computer game (that isn't RDR2).
VIP:
"Forza Horizon 4 VIP Membership features more exclusive rewards than ever before. VIPs receive 3 Exclusive Forza Edition cars, VIP Crown Flair, VIP Vanity Items, VIP Emote and Car Horn, Free Player House, 2x Credit race rewards, weekly bonus Super Wheelspins, and more. VIP Membership can be purchased separately, or included with Forza Horizon 4 Ultimate Edition and Ultimate Add-Ons Bundle."
Ah, cheers. Nice-to-have but hardly essential then.
And TBH, it's the sort of thing I object to paying for on principle anyway. Quite happy to buy content expansions, but bleeding extra money out of people for frippery when the RRP of a game is already £50 is a bit pisstakey IMHO.
Agreed, we'd wouldn't be getting it if it wasn't included with the ultimate edition.
Usually go for the ultimate edition, but then I've had every Forza game since Forza 2!
