It is quite extraordinary that this new super-duper forum software has the same pagination bug as the old crappy forum software.

I bloody love a good moan and hate crappy comms, in all aspects of life.

You not think this is getting a teensy weensy bit over the top now though? The stance has been established and that's it. Stay or don't, pay or don't, play or don't. 🙂

I actually feel a bit sorry for Cougar & Mood Hoover, I really think they should walk away from posting here at all - then this would just all just drop away and the forum will find its new, or otherwise, success.

Using punctuation in a section of text highlighted for italics is still throwing up strange results, on occasion.

These always amuse me. People keep coming up with ideas about who the anonymous moderators are, and I don’t think anyone’s ever actually guessed correctly yet.

Well, no, but I wouldn’t have said what I just said either, I’d have not mentioned it.

It's always good for communities / societies both online and in real life to have unknown, undercover anonymous actors observing, reporting and destroying members of said community. It's good for building social cohesion, fairness and a feeling of belonging . I mean, look at how happy everyone on STW is!!

Definitely the best option, easier to maintain, single channel distribution and a client base of similar wants and needs..

Glad it's happened, GritCX was a good idea initially.. but it's just become another aspect of riding bikes.. but in dirt/mud. Therefore, has more in common with the scope covered here.

After all, we still chat here about Gavel/CX because some of us think this is the best place for it..

Merging is the sensible option.

Oh shush, you.

It could well be that someone was being harassed, or there were other external factors which made it a priority? It's a good idea IMHO.

You make a fair point - though I presume if somebody was being harassed you do have other means at your disposal to sort that out?

I had a little chuckle at CFH's comment - I'm guessing we can't now complain about not getting updates on progress, even if it's not progress anybody was asking for?

When are we getting a STW Facebook group just for blokes, so we can talk freely about boobies and moustaches and that?

The girlies have their own one and I’m feeling a bit discriminated against

I've no idea, we probably wouldn't be a party to that anyway. It was just a guess. Quite often when sudden changes go in it's because STW hasn't much choice in the matter. In any case, I still think it's a Good Thing.

That said we’ve closed the odd one and asked the OP to post in the forum update thread to keep the discussion in one place.

If you want the discussion kept in one place you could simply sticky this thread. 🙂

I think the idea was the users got to bump the thread, thus making them feel part of the process.

The thread highlighting the issue has been closed. I'll repeat dannyh's OP here as it hasn't been registered on this or the pop-up's/redirects thread and the issue is very ****ing annoying. I won't use the quote function, as I'm scared what might happen:

Using Safari on an iPad, so nothing niche.

Silly left hand half of screen bar/advert keeps flick-flacking into view, blocking the typing box. Screen jumps all over the place, I presume in an effort to force feed me an advert for something.

Getting right on my tits and making it onerous to use. Anyone else?

The patience you (still) need to use this post editor on an iPhone is utterly insane. Please let us stop it from loading, and use a plain txt editor, on a user by user basis, at least 'till it has been made user friendly.

Underlined font button is apparently still a bit broken.

Retaliation is an occupational hazard if you are breaking into people's homes with the intent of robbing them. I have precisely zero sympathy for the poor little criminal . . .

I've had enough of this site. I've spent years perusing it but now it's just aggravating. mtbr forum is pretty good for a browse so I now head over there if I want to kill ten mins.

Advertising only works if there are people left to see it. Make your site unpleasant to use and people will rapidly disappear.

I'll check back here from time to time in the hope that it's no longer a jumpy mess. I remember when it was just a list of topics and you clicked on one and read some stuff. Used to love that.

That stupid popup really is taking the piss 😒. Prime member, been here for over a decade, subscribed to the magazine for over a decade....

i don’t want a popup about the magazine I have paid for for over 10 years.

Please fix this crappy mess you have made of the forum...

You know I'm a subscriber, so why spam me with utterly pointless messages?

Unless you really want me to cancel my subscription.

I see that closing it does make it go away, so that’s good I guess. I did screenshot my post and put it on the FB group. Apparently it’s not a popup, but ann information slider, with useful things to read.

It may well be unintentional behaviour, or an experiment. (I don't know.)

Might be a cookies / multiple pages open thing, I tend to open several at once, but I've seen it twice tonight.

Just close it and it disappears. Is this what we've become? A bunch of entitled roasters leaving because of one bloody pop up? Jesus wept.

No obvious benefit? They're trying to sell ****in magazines! You think they shouldn't advertise on THEIR site for THEIR product just because you subscribe? It's no even a proper pop up, only appearing at the bottom. Holy **** some folk have too much time on their hands.

Greg, read my post. I have bought the magazine as a subscriber for over a decade. Surely logging in filters the popups. It does on Wiggle, CRC and many other places, not here though. It has nothing to do with time, just how we fulfil ourselves using it.... Anyway, off to jump off a pier into the cold sea 😜

As have I, and for the money, I have received a mag (and bloody cheaply too btw) for that time. I don't feel like the same entitlement as you do, and as I said, it's not even a pop up, I actually had to go beyond the last post on a thread to see it. First world problems eh?.
