I took my new Ragley Big Al for it's first ride today and had a good ride but noticed the forks (Marzocchi Bomber Z2) made an unusual sound about half way round and it felt like something was loose at the front end.
The only way I can describe it is almost as if the thru axle is loose. I've checked the thru axle and it's at the correct torque setting, wheel hub is tight (no side to side play) and the headset is tight. It I raise bike a couple of mm off the ground and lower it I can almost feel play? I've held the front brake and rocked the bike gently with my hand near the rubber bushing and it feels like there is a little bit of play (after only one ride?!).
Has anyone come across this before?
Known issue with the z2, I have a pair that developed it after very few miles.

Ah bummer, waiting to hear about warranty but seems like it's an ongoing problem, pretty rubbish for a £400+ fork to have this issue. Maybe I'll sell them and get Rock shox!
I had the same issue a couple of years ago. Silverfish wouldn't replace the whole fork under warranty, but after one failed attempt to fix it with new Z2 lowers, they then replaced them with Fox Rhythm lowers - which are compatible and do have replaceable bushings unlike the Z2. Problem solved. Might be worth asking for the same fix. Not ideal having a Franken-fork but no issues since. Visually the only give away is that the fork crown is gloss on the Z2 vs matte on the Fox.
Hmm, I have exactly the same issue which I noticed recently.
Who do I contact for the warranty - crc, fox or silverfish?
I contacted Silverfish and returned the forks to them, they replaced the lowers, added the latest stickers and added a quick release thru axle before returning them to me within a week.
Unfortunately after one ride the loose feeling/knocking has returned so I'll be calling them on Monday to see what they suggest.
I can see this getting expensive if I have to return them for new lowers after each ride!
GWJ315 did you suggest the Fox lowers or did Silverfish?
It was the Fox warranty manager at Silverfish who suggested using replacement Fox lowers, after new Z2 lowers had failed to fix the problem - just as you've found with yours.
Cheers, I'll see what they say on Monday.
