I made pie for dinner, but i ran or of suet so i only made a lid. As if this wasn't bad enough i enjoyed it. It was not only quicker than blind baking the base but the gravy didn't make the bottom soggy, instead it leaked out and mingled with my mash with wild 48 hour cooked abandon.

You live, you learn. You become a better person.
And slightly less northern.

You're a winner! And dont let any chippy Yorkshireman tell you otherwise!

Have no fear, I am a Yorkshireman and "you can always tell a Yorkshire man, but you can't tell him much"

Just so we're clear - you didn't make a pie.

You have freed yourself from the shackles of pastry oppression.

Welcome to the resistance brother.

I made a pie tonight, only I didn't have any pastry or filling. So I made some mashed potatoes, added some sausages as a topping, then poured sautéed onion gravy over it. And you know what, I enjoyed it!

You've made an enjoyable meal. That doesn't make it a pie, even if it's something you enjoyed more than pie.
