Got a warning message for two tyres this morning. Pressures are OK, measured on the gauge and by the TPMS screen but the error message won’t clear.
I’m getting a flat tyre symbol, a warning triangle and two yellow blobs on the car pictogram when, according to the car, there is nothing wrong. Any idea how to shift it? A 20 minute drive, repeatedly pressing the OK button and quite a lot of swearing so far hasn’t worked.
The two tyres in question are on the side of the car that is exposed to the weather when parked at home and it was cold last night. Don’t know if this has anything to do with it.
The valve sensors are still operating as the readout on the dash changed when I increased and ten decreased the pressure in one of the tyres.
There is a way of going into the car’s settings and resetting the pressure based on what you’ve put in. My EcoSport was showing a pressure warning not long after I got it, so I put air in all round and checked with a pressure gauge, but it was still showing a warning; after a bit of digging around I found out how to reset with those pressures as optimum - that was in August, I haven’t had any further warnings show up since.
Trouble is, I can’t remember now where in the settings it is. A search online should help if the handbook isn’t clear.
Update.
The videos for a reset all show the 2015 onwards model, mine is older. After much pratting about I deduced that the system was not acknowledging the OK button on the warning screen, so I disconnected the battery.
Error message now cleared. 😀
