The airbag light is on in my C-Max (and has been for a while)
Kwik Fit had a look at it the other day and diagnosed "B1877 Seatbelt Driver Pretensioner Circuit Open"
Anyone know how easy this is to fix? Apparently the airbag won't come on while this problem exists.
Cheers

Check the connector under the seat, they can come loose.
Does the airbag light flash a set number of times, or is it just permanently on?

had this on the fiesta, look on the ford forums, its either crap in the airbag connector or its come loose.

be careful though!!!

you have to disconnect the battery and other black magic.

Its on constantly.

I know i could just take it to the local Ford dealer, but we don't see eye-to-eye (since i threatened to take them to court over the cost of a new engine and made them give me a new car...)

As above, it's 'normally' the under seat connection, though mines been on for the last couple of years, as messing with both connectors didn't help & the car it too old to be worth further investigation.

Normally, it gives an error code by flashing the ABS light at startup, then stays on.
If you aren't getting any flash codes, then it could be the main module at fault or a loose / corroded / split wire somewhere. Did KwikFit try seeing what happened by resetting the light / clearing the fault?

there's no flashing (that I've noticed)
Kwik Fit could only give me the code but said they couldn't do anything with it.
I'll have a look under the seat for loose wires...

If you're going to fiddle with the connectors, disconnect the battery for approx 15-30 mins first. You dont want one of them going off in your face a close range!
