Your knowledge of boot sizes please.
Looking to book hire car for holiday, We will have three large suitcases and bike bag. Bike bag is pretty big but is quite squashable as only got a road bike in it. Will it fit? Need to cram that lot in plus Mrs s and three kids for about 1hr journey from airport.
Cheers
Wouldn’t have thought so.
I can get a bike, wheels off and stood up in mine, but it goes diagonally and leaves no space for suitcases. If you could drop the middle seat (or take it out) then yeah probably, but you’ll need that if you’ve got 3 kids.
No.
Not in mine.
But then I'd leave the kids and take the bike.
Can the kids not have suitcases on their knees? Yes they will whinge but they will do that anyway...if you take them!
A roof rack sounds like a good idea. And not for the luggage.
How about the C-Max Grand, it’s a 7-seater, and it has the advantage of sliding rear doors, which allow better access to the interior:

We have a Grand Cmaxerati and even that would be a struggle
I would guess no, the boot is tall, but small in every other dimension compared to a Mondeo estate. Seems they went backwards after the mk1 focus estate which was cavernous for the size of the car.
Unless you can do some jiggery with the folding seats, but do they still fold 'up' rather than down like most cars making them completely useless unless removed completely?
Also speak to the car hire company and get them to guarantee they will actually give you the car you ask for. "Or similar" in car hire terms is often very unsimilar.

Indeed, could end up with a Berlingo or Partner! Both of which I have a profound dislike for.
Anyway, how about the S-Max? Or a Galaxy? Same Mondeo platform, just one’s more car than bus.
No countzero those would be an upgrade not similar 😉
Anyway. How far you driving. Couple of rolled up beach towels and a couple of ratchet straps through open windows.
Bike bag on the roof.
