Looking for a replacement for my company car, and found an interesting candidate on the Ford Approved website, which says contact the dealer below for details. Did that, and the dealer has no record of this car - someone has mis-allocated the car to the dealership. No contact details for ford approved, so was directed to the main phone number for ford HQ and spoke to customer service. Apparently, all they can do is give me the numbers of dealers in my area and have me phone each one in turn to see they have the car. WTAF???? (notwithstanding that this car could be anywhere in teh country - its certainly not a local number plate, and similar models with similar plates - eg one letter different) are scattered all over the UK!) Surely in this day and age they must be able to do better than that.... 😮

From what I’ve heard about their eco boost engines frequently going bang I’d avoid anything with a ford badge on if I were you.

Strangely, I had similar last week. Went to look at a van and after looking for the key the salesman cane came back all apologetic saying it had been sold earlier.

Rang me up the following day saying he'd found it in the car park, someone had mistyped the reg. into the stock database. Not so bad for me, an hour and 10 miles extra to go and view it.

@earl_brutus - can you share more details about the dodgy EcoBoost engines?
