You don't need to be an 'investor' to invest in Singletrack: 6 days left: 95% of target - Find out more
This is a car that I’m completely unfamiliar with, it was built for the very first Formula 1 races, was unbelievably complicated, and way ahead of its time, a 1500cc supercharged V16 producing 600 bhp, in a car weighing 750Kg! Only five were built, they were incredibly difficult to keep running, and rule changes meant they could only run in Formula Libra. Four still survive, Nick Mason has one, (well, of course he has!), but I’ve never seen it at his open garden events. It seems three original chassis that were never used have turned up, and three brand new cars are being built, including the V16 engines!
Have a listen to Nick’s car being taken for a couple of laps around Donnington Park, recorded from the pit lane - spine-tingling stuff.
Now, when’s the next Euromillions game...

There are a few Youtubes of the car in action. If you start here you'll find them:
Quite remarkable engine and advanced suspension, but very complex and woefully under developed in period. I have seen the Mason one run at Silverstone and the Donnington collection one at Goodwood Festival of speed. Very distinctive sound.
I saw one at Silverstone, utterly outstanding soundtrack - the Nick Mason book is fantastic, with his notes on buying and owning them and Mark Hales covering the driving, the howl as the BRM dives down through the Craners for the first time is proper spine-tingling. But if you listen to the end, you'll hear the misfire, still can't make em run right...
Mason got rid of his, didn't he?
Edit: The Reawakening video is the NUTS!! 🙂
There's a famous audio recording of that car, from back in the days long before YouTube etc when the budding young petrol head had to wait for their monthly copy of Motorsports magazine for their fix.
Closest I'll ever get is a 200 VVC with an Orange grill!

Yes, it's the one from Nick Mason's book.
I'm not sure if it's more or less mad than BRM's H16.
