Took this picture today while out climbing, not sure what version of spidey it is but I thought it was beautiful.

@eyerideit: I'd say it was about as big as a 10p (maybe a bit less but it was certainly bigger than a 20p).

@Taff: I'm currently scaling the walls driven by my OH insisting that we watch X Factor bullcrap.

We've got a garden full of spiders at the moment but none as nice as that.

Nice photo.
It does look like an orb spider( from the Araneidae family). Probably a common garden orb, [i]Araneus diadematus[/i] but can't be sure without a dorsal view. The UK is well into spider season now so you should see some stunners around.
