Yes good luck runners - but be sensible with the hydration. Ignore the bbc BS about you must keep drinking. More people have died in the marathon from drinking too much than too little. Balance as a always....

Easily done. An 'expert' tells some newbie they need to drink a pint a mile if it's hot, worryingly they'll probably have a go.

It's probably just as important to have some sort of hat on.

I'll wave at ya's as you (meander) jog on past the Appt. Just look for mile16 marker and we'll be there waving you lot on 😆

Then again if it's after the start of Paris Roubaix on Eurosport you'll be on your own.. 😉

A former boss ran the Comrades's marathon in South Africa which is 54(?) miles long a few years ago. Saw him track past 47 miles but not at finish. Seems he had drunk to much water and was in a very bad way and did not finish. Carted off to the medics.

I think they were an expert in pub crawls.

Well done, Al.

Now quickly get back to Scotland, before Alex Salmond comes looking for you.

A good day, didn't actually think it was that hot out on the course... or was that because l paced it well... 3:42... only knew l was doing it on Thursday and my longest run of late was a half 4 weeks ago... but felt strong at the end and the last 5km was my quickest

I ran 2:35:08, 89th place.

That's the fastest marathon I'll ever run. I have nothing left to bring to the table over that distance.
