Saw the wonder kids Garnacho and Mainoo were rated 4/10 by Sky after the Newcastle game - lol.

Great time to be a Town fan. Witnessing some truly excellent football under Kieran McKenna.

As a Leeds fan I'm looking forward to when the Prem teams start sacking their managers and come sniffing for yours!

and it seems a mite unfair that TAA’s freekick is going down as an OG

Not really as it wasn't going in before it hit the keeper.

True enough.

Brings us back to Nick Pope for Sterling's FK a week or so ago, and assertions that he should have dived / made a better effort

On this case it went straight in, but look at TAA yesterday (OG off the keeper) vs Trippier's very similar one against Man Utd where Onana doesn't try to save it and it bounces back out. Evidence seems to suggest diving for lost causes is a mug's game, and likely to backfire more than it'll ever pay off 😉

Well it looks like the Pope v Dubravka argument is going to be settled in the next couple of months.

The citeh spurs game was a great watch. I'm impressed with Spurs. Pains me to say it as an Arsenal fan. I think they will finish above us this season. They have a lot of players to come back. It's going to be so close this season.

Just seen the highlights of the Spurs game. That decision in the last minute and the reaction of the City players... wonderful. Seeing that massive norse man-baby throwing a strop warms the cockles of my heart.

The referee's de3cision was woeful but Haaland's reaction and subsequent tweet, were unacceptable. He should be charged by the FA.

I think that he missed 2 absolute sitters was the real reason they drew that game.

Probably accounts for his reaction, as he knew it.

As a Leeds fan I’m looking forward to when the Prem teams start sacking their managers and come sniffing for yours!

Going to be a nervous few weeks when Premier League managers start getting sacked in the New Year. Especially if we have our usual New Year wobble and jumping ship looks a better option for him to manage in tne Premier League.

It should be like this all the time, where all the matches are available and you choose which you want to watch

It’s bonkers that you can’t!

Yep, new deal signed this week, and still only select matches available with the pointless Saturday 3pm blackout, despite all the evidence from other countries that matches on TV has no impact on match attendance.

Anyway, I applied for some tickets in the euro 2024 lottery today as it is coming to Germany, hope I don't get them all otherwise I am on the hook for nearly 2 grands worth of tickets (worth may be a relative term). I only want to watch a couple of matches really, never watched any in an international tournament. I expect eufa will keep most of the tickets for the final reserved for dignitaries so they can be sold on the black market.

Mental in the women's games.

If it stays as it is (5-0 vs Scotland and 2-0 NL win) the GB can go to the Olympics still.

England and NL have both just scored...... so now 6-0 and 3-0 but still that ENG +3 GD on the night.

NL still playing, and Scotland have been bashing the door down to potentially put themselves out as team GB

Crazy drama - the Dutch got a 4th and no Olympics for us… You won 6-0 and its not enough… Was at Wembley on Friday and that was a crazy game too, the second half was brilliant - very disappointing they don’t qualify…

Gah, harsh on Luton that. That’s a few late wins for Arsenal now, definitely going to be up there in the mix for the title.

Nice timing, just after Arteta says in his afternoon press conference that Ramsdale ‘is free to leave’ in January.

So Shaw gets booked for tapping the ball away and Stirling's blatant cheating is ignored. How bizarre.

Chelsea really are bloody awful. It really takes something to make us look good. They seem to be intent on giving us the ball in their own half

@Caher - I also can’t comprehend how Sterling wasn’t booked for such an obvious dive

I'm guessing premiership rules now allow clubs to wear their 3rd kits at this point in the season and since its coming up to transfer window they are taking every opportunity to generate some sales.   We all know home kits are sacred, away kits the designers get some play time,  and 3rd kits are done by the colour blind intern hoping to get a place on a fashion degree but that milka kit makes the turd milkshake spurs have been trotting out for the last month look almost normal..... almost.

Bournemouth are making some noise! Or maybe it's the cold misty air carrying the crowd noise.  I'm a mile plus from Selhurst, over a hill,  and can normally just about hear the roar of a home goal.   I just fetched my daughter from cubs and walking back it sounded like the game was at the end of the street!

Not seen any of the matches but another crazy night in the Premier League by the looks of it.

Torn about Forest - would love to see them doing better but god I'm sick of their fans at work harking back to long past glories. Get over yourselves - Ipswich were great in the same period but shit happens, you aren’t entitled to **** all.

I may stick a fiver on Villa doing a Leicester though. I’ve just had a look and they’re 25/1. Got to be worth a punt

I was in the Holte end at the Villa last night.
As usual, absolutely nobody sat down, except for half time. It was exhilaratingly good. None of us expected the frantic pace to continue into the 2nd half but it was relentless. Grown men hugging strangers!
What a game! What a game!
I predict Villa will end the season in 6th.

Villa are definitely in the fight for Europe spots.  My feel is city win,  Liverpool and arsenal next. 4th down I don't know the order but villa, Newcastle,  probably United and I hope spurs. Any of those teams could put a run together and challenge for higher but I don't think they will sustain it come march when city stop £%@#ing about.

I'm confident but also worried for Newcastle.

Compared to this point last season, taking into account the sides they've played as well, they're better off than they were and have done that with a crippling injury list, with a dozen or so starter or key rotation players injured or in the case of Tonali, suspended. These are starting to phase back in, and i think they will strengthen again in january, and I hope will have a strong second half of the season.

The worry - is that they play an intense game (not sure where I saw the stats but more pressing / yards covered than the majority of other teams etc.) and have such fitness demands that will the injury list be replaced by other injuries given the burden they've carried in the meantime.

Ha! The first half was ludicrously one sided, second much more even and Spurs gifted us two goals. Fantastic.

That is the first time I've watched spurs this season & I found it almost unwatchable.  It felt like watching FIFA (commentators said same I think), so many passes it hurt my head. So glad WH got back into the game, as I doubt I could have watched the 2nd half otherwise.

Spurs have become my second favourite team this season with their gung ho style. Mentioned it before I think but its Bielsa-esque but as we saw last night, at times its as infuriating as it was sometimes watching Bielsa when you need to change something if plan A (trying to pass the ball into the goal) wasn't working. Can't imagine what last night must have been like for an actual Spurs fan - infuriating.

West Ham seemed to get lucky with a double deflection and a horrific back pass that rebounded off the post. Richarlison should have done better with that free header when he came on. Question for Spurs fans though - how many more minutes of football would Son play if he didn't do the following all the time:
- appeal to the ref for decisions even if the whistle hasn't gone
- hold his head in his hands/look to the sky etc every time he plays a misplaced pass etc
Honestly, he must have missed about 15 minutes of the game last night staring at the sky/arguing with the ref.

They need to arrest the slump and put teams away - have lost 16 points from winning positions this season! That said, pre-season Spurs fans may have accepted the current points tally?

Expectations were lower, I guess, given Kane departure and lack of ‘marquee’ signings.

Harry Maguire Premier League player of the month and Ten Hag got the manager accolade, for November.

Quick question about the Spurs game. At about 66:50 free kick into box, keeper gets a knock and about 5 players on the floor briefly. As they are sorting themselves out a West Ham player picks something off the grass, Richarlison tries to grab it, but he takes it to the ref instead. The ref then seems to take it to the touch line and have a word with someone before they restart. Commentators did not mention it at all. Anyone else spot it and know what was going on? Missile from crowd? Richarlison brought on gels/jiffy bags for teammates?

You maybe need to can the Europa League, although Emery usually wins it! Avoid injuries - especially to Watkins - and you’ll be top four I think, maybe even push Liverpool, Arsenal and City for the league. Nice that the league is not a procession for a change, but I wouldn’t be surprised to see City win ten on the bounce and pull away.

Did anyone see the Onyeko tackle for Brentford against Sheff U.

Slow mo is at 1.03 here

How, after a VAR check, this was not deemed a red is shocking.   I can see how the on field ref may miss how bad it was, but for VAR to not upgrade it is laughable.  But, are we surprised.....

That was a cracking goal by McAtee, I may be in the minority here, but I love a goal curled into the top corner like that far more than an overhead kick which I feel depends on a bit too much on random luck.

Villa look really good. At least we made chances against them, whereas citeh had almost nothing. It's really wide open at the top. I think we will be challenging Villa to 4th/5th. I think Spurs will bounce back. I'll add Liverpool into the mix for the title. It'll be citeh or them.

You would imagine that they will start to suffer in comparison to teams with greater depth in their squads, but 5th would be a fantastic result.

I don’t think Haaland has missed many games since he signed. I’d imagine they’d play Alvarez centrally in his absence, maybe in a false 9 role, and go full tiki taki. Haaland has enabled them to mix it up and go a bit more direct.
