Very funny watching Manchester United absolutely give up and roll over. City didn't have to try.
What's she gonna do for you when they win the league again?
She’s not a City fan, for her sins she supports Bolton. She just hates United, loves winding me up about them being shit, and is very good at betting (not that you’d have to be to predict that result).

I predicted it when the first goal went it. When we got absolutely tonked by Liverpool last season, we weren’t actually that bad first half, then just fell apart in the second and gave up.
I had a feeling that would happen today and it did. The second half was just a kickabout for City. I’m sure they could have put 7 past us too if they wanted too. But why bother? Just have a gentle jog about for 45 minutes and have a nice rest before your next match. It’s hardly like they were running the risk of being tackled by anyone? Or having to defend against any counterattacks?
Another absolutely pathetic display by the worst United side I’ve ever seen, and that’s been a pretty hotly contested mantle over recent years. There isn’t a single player at Old Trafford who would get anywhere near a starting place for City. I doubt many of them would quality for a start at a mid-table Championship side on present form
I bet Newcastle can’t wait to play us on Wednesday. They could stick their reserves out and still walk it
We also got to see Huffy Bruno today, how he's captain i'll never know, he's going to blow up every few games, it's just in his DNA, same as Ronaldo and many others, they have skill and ability, but they're not exactly follow me to victory types unless you're already winning. Antony as well, comes on, almost gets himself sent off, yet Sancho is out in the cold for less!
I bet Newcastle can’t wait to play us on Wednesday. They could stick their reserves out and still walk it
Saw Tonali at Ladbrokes earlier, think it'll be a score draw 😉
85 million for Antony is making 90 million for Pogba look like bargain of the century. He’s absolutely abysmal! And his behaviour today was beyond embarrassing. Like a petulant toddler having a hissy fit.
Bruno should be nowhere near the captaincy, but if not him, then who?
There are no leaders at Old Trafford, on or off the pitch. The whole club is rudderless and just drifting aimlessly and nobody there seems to care as long as the money keeps rolling in
I bet Newcastle can’t wait to play us on Wednesday. They could stick their reserves out and still walk it
I think Eddie will put the reserves out.
The squad is stretched thin, picked up some really unlucky injuries recently and of course Tonali!
This must be the lowest of priorities.
Man Utd's 'problems', Chelsea's 'problems', Newcastle's 'problems.........
"Just imagine there's a picture of Steve Buscemi playing the worlds smallest violin"
Harry Maguire overlooked again as the Argentine journeyman won his eighth balloon.
Oh Goody.

Did Australia withdraw their bid because there's no point spending money on it if a wealthy opponent can just buy the FIFA delegates like Qatar and Russia did?
The Daily Mash sums it up perfectly...
Let Saudi Arabia win the ****ing World Cup as well if you want, shrugs football
Just bought my ticket for Blades v Liverpool. I must enjoy pain
On the positive side you may get to witness the highest ever premier win. Maybe double figures.
Declan who?

Man Utd concentrating on the big trophies this year then? 😀
Bit quiet in here. At the very least I was expecting another rant from binners.
I bet Newcastle can’t wait to play us on Wednesday. They could stick their reserves out and still walk it
Premonition of the season contender
I didn't even watch it. I knew what the outcome would be - another pathetic capitulation - so why put myself through it?
Ironically, I went out for a nice meal with Mrs Binners instead, funded by her recent winnings on betting against us. We had a lovely evening (she knows how to keep me happy - buy me pie) which was infinitely preferable to swearing profusely at the telly.
I expect (as the Toon fans loudly predicted) they'll sack Ten Hag on Saturday after we lose 3 nil to Fulham and the whole rinse and repeat cycle will continue with whichever mug they get in next.
I'm past caring
I didn't see that coming.
When I saw the teams I thought Man Utd would coast it, on paper they were way better.
However, they are absolutely shit. They have some horrible characters in that team as well.
They were lucky to get away with 3 - 0, should of been down to 10 in the 1st half.
At least Maguire got an assist though.
Neil Warnock just made me laugh with his comments on Ten Hag. You have to laugh really as its true...
“I don't think he'll last and I'm not sure he wants to. I don't see a happy environment. Some of the players he's spent £60/70m on, I wouldn't have had at Huddersfield!”
I was at OT last night and it was probably the worst game of football I've ever seen. And I'm a Bradford City season ticket holder! 😁
There's nothing there; no passion, no fight, nothing. The players reflect Ten Hag, they all basically stood there with hands in pockets doing nowt. Tough times ahead for sure 😕
The squad have downed tools again. Same as they've done with all the previous managers. Cue: sack the manager and we start the whole depressing cycle once again. Perhaps they could get Bill Murray in next...

I know you keep saying "it's the owners" but how are the owners responsible for this attitude of the team and manager time and time again ? Surely the players, manager etc have to have a level of responsibility for the situations ?
Mark Hughes is available binners, now Bradford don't want him anymore 😉
I've said it a few times, i just don't like Ten Hag's ways, and i mean off and on the pitch, but who do you get in, there's not many who would even contemplate ManU just now, especially if you have a squad as eclectic as theirs, i think you have to stick with him for a while, maybe get a Director of Football in who can take some of the burden away, back him with getting rid of who he wants ASAP and so on.
Still not sure why they didn't go for Kane, they need a world class player and captain material just now, and as much as i can't stand Kane, he is both of those.
Maybe time for another big squad change in January. If the for sale sign goes up I'd have Eriksen back at spurs if the price were right, he'd be good back up for madders. We need a quality back up cb too but don't think you've got one of those.
I'm not sure Kane would have gone to man u. The sole thing he wants is a winners medal and tbf, man u weren't looking that strong.
Kane probably knew Utd would play him wide & he'd have to do everything himself.
They bought ETH in with a rep as a disciplinarian, turns out all he can do is piss players off at that level. He's not improved anyone & players have gone backwards under him.
Reckon if they did sack him they'd try & get De Zerbi from Brighton, or Graham Potter - I think he's still free.
[runs into thread with replica Newcastle shirt over head, waves arms about, runs out again]
I think Kane would have gone there, but doubt that Levy would let him go to another Premier League club.
Reckon if they did sack him they’d try & get De Zerbi from Brighton, or Graham Potter – I think he’s still free.
I think Potter will be the perfect fit for them!
I was saying the other day to the kids at the Amex after the Ajax game, that when De Zerbi goes (and I'm fully aware that at some point he will) it's gonna sting way more than any other player or coach that has left us. Way more than when Zamora left for Spurs or even Murray to Palace.
I know you keep saying “it’s the owners” but how are the owners responsible for this attitude of the team and manager time and time again ? Surely the players, manager etc have to have a level of responsibility for the situations ?
Everyone is at fault, but what do you expect? The whole club is a total shambles. Just look whats gone on with the sale/non-sale thats been dragging on for 12 months (as predicted). Everything comes from the top down.
From completely clueless owners who couldn't give a shit about the club and just see it as a cash cow, right down to players who all look like they just can't be arsed. And why would they? They pick up their millions no matter how woeful the performances are. Transfer policy appears to be to pick random names out of a hat then pay 80 million quid for them. We all know what happens next. The owners will just sack yet another manager and get the next fall guy in. And on the moneymaking juggernaut goes...
Gary Neville summed it up last night, as he has so many times

Mark Hughes is available binners, now Bradford don’t want him anymore 😉
Or, that OT legend, Steve Bruce. Great player, nice bloke, pundits loved him at Newcastle when the fans wanted him out. 👍
Its going to be mildly interesting to see who they get in when they sack Ten Hag on Saturday afternoon after the loss to Fulham. I'm sure the Glazers are already in talks with the next chump daft enough to carry the can for a year or so and purchase the next few 80 million pound donkeys on 7-year, half a mil a week contracts
I can't see why anyone would want the job
Bobby Zamora there's a name, he never worked out at spurs.
No idea who man u would get next..... the summer merry-go-round settled with most in place....oh hang on, poch should be free by Monday night
🤣
Gotta love footy chants!
Its going to be mildly interesting to see who they get in when they sack Ten Hag on Saturday afternoon after the loss to Fulham.
Can they hold sacking him for another week until Luton have played them?
Ten Hag has a veto on transfers, so he has agreed to all the transfers under his watch, all £380m odd of them. So he agreed to Casemiro and his crazy long contract, Antony, Onana, Mount, and the punt on Hojlund who looks to be a crap Darwin Nunez.
His comment after the City game was telling ‘I cannot get these players to play like Ajax.’ I bet he said the reverse at his job interview! And he’s agreed to these players being signed and then admits he can’t get them to play how he wants.
I’m not usually up for sacking managers early ish but he’s out his depth here and has lost the players. Bit leftfield but I’d give it to someone like Kieran McKenna, what a job he’s done at Ipswich.
Bit leftfield but I’d give it to someone like Kieran McKenna, what a job he’s done at Ipswich.
Absolutely no chance.
Man Utd will wany a massive name and the fans will turn very quickly if he didn't get off to a perfect start.
He was managing in League One just over a year ago.
dander has it - don't forget where he learnt his managerial skills, the connection is there, finally got us out of League One and doing well in tne Championship.
And after last night, already has experience of losing to Fulham. Perfect fit for the Man U job.
Simeone, ancelloti, Pep.
Let's help Mrs binners win her next bet.
She's already expressed an opinion....

Apparently, he'll be able to keep us up 😂
Bit leftfield but I’d give it to someone like Kieran McKenna, what a job he’s done at Ipswich.
Absolutely no chance.
That was exactly what I was going to say. He's having a good season, no doubt about it, but he's not used to managing the prima donnas that Man U have – they need someone with proven experience at the top level.
I know they won’t but appointing big names hasn’t exactly worked. Fair chance McKenna will be managing in the PL next season anyway. Suspect they will target de Zerbi. Or finally get Poch when Chelsea boot him.
but he’s not used to managing the prima donnas that Man U have
Double checked on Wikipedia:
Under 18 coach at Man U - 2016-2018
Assistant Manager at Man U - 2018-2021
I agree they probably want a more prominent name, but probably worth a tenner of MrsBinners money!
De Zerbi is on the list for better run clubs that manu, I think he can leave it till the end of next year to get a good job before he might think about ruining his reputation at old trafford.
Maybe a massive bid to get palace to part with Woy
Or Nagelsman. He'd he a fair shout maybe, if he isn't sold on the national tea.....oh hang on! National team... of course! Gareth is supposedly a man manager, perfect fit.
Whilst naturally, my heart bleeds for Binners and co. I feel obliged to point out that Newcastle beat that shower with 7 players that were there before the takeover. We had 5/6 full-backs line up at kick off and our 2 centre-halves had ONE game between them in something like 400 days. Eddie Howe continues to amaze and impress me.
Whilst the plight of Man U isn't remotely as bad as that threats facing Sheffield Wednesday, Reading, Wigan, Southend etc I do remember well what is like when the anger and frustration burns out and you just feel apathetic. Newcastle was a zombie club for most of Ashley's reign. Treating water and keeping the dividends going. People went to the match through habit or obligation, many just went to town for a pint or eight with their mates and the match sort of got in the way.
So I'm conflicted. I've grown up having to listen to the self-entitled, arrogant Man U fans tell us they're the best club on earth but also do have some sympathy with the fans who only have an expection of a club that is half well ran and a team that represents their community. They're an awful long way from both of those right now.
You can talk about sacking ETH and new managers all you want but nothing changes in the long term until new owners come in.
Big team content.
In another place - I see Bayern got dumped out of their cup competition by Saarbrücken
- 3rd division, the other night. Excellent.
You can talk about sacking ETH and new managers all you want but nothing changes in the long term until new owners come in.
Maybe it's just that ETH is a shit manager? He has Steve Mclaren as his deputy FFS!
Maybe its all the above?
It seems really odd that at the back end of last season we were actually playing some decent football under TH, we signed players to strengthen expecting the team to kick on, then watched in amazement as the team regressed by an absolutely staggering level and now look like a pub side
ETH is clearly not shit but he's completely the wrong manager for Man U. McLaren is however excellent at putting cones out and maximising the effect of his few stands of hair.
I'd love to see Big Sam get the job and start to get results playing Samball.
In other news it was reassuring to see Leeds beat Leicester to put a dent in their seemingly unstoppable march back to the Premier League.
MOT / ALAW
A win! A win binners! And with it your lot don't seem so far away from the business end of the table. It is still very early days really
Newcastle looking good. It does seem like a more competitive league this year.
Newcastle are solid - simply no way through for Arsenal, especially after the goal. Any thoughts on the goal? My instinct watching live was the ball went out and on balance a foul by Joelinton on Gabriel, Gordon was onside though. Arteta raging!
It was a cracking game! The multiple VAR check on the goal was bonkers! Both teams should have been down to ten men in the first half. Two straight reds for definite
And we got a win! Hardly the most convincing ot performances but it’s 3 points and Mrs Binners lost a bet for once
Glad to see Utd win today, means ETH will struggle on much to everyone's amusement.
Just seen the Arsenal Newcastle game on MOTD how both sides weren't down to 10 men I don't know and the VAR for the goal was a joke.
NUFC 3 points; nothing else counts.
Just watching MOTD and Doku looks like another terrifyingly good addition to the Citeh squad. Handy when you’re short of decent attacking players
I thought that Doku's four assists versus Bournemouth might be a new record for most in a Premier League game but it just matched the existing record and was the eighth time the feat had been performed - see others below.
Dennis Bergkamp – Arsenal vs. Leicester City (20 February 1999)
José Antonio Reyes – Arsenal vs. Middlesbrough (14 January 2006)
Cesc Fàbregas – Arsenal vs. Blackburn Rovers (4 October 2009)
Emmanuel Adebayor – Tottenham Hotspur vs. Newcastle United (11 February 2012)
Santi Cazorla – Arsenal vs. Wigan Athletic (14 May 2013)
Harry Kane – Tottenham Hotspur vs. Southampton (20 September 2020)
Paul Pogba – Manchester United vs. Leeds United (14 August 2021)
Jérémy Doku – Manchester City vs. Bournemouth (4 November 2023)
Interesting four of these players were playing for Arsenal when they did this.
Another interesting stat. City started Haaland and Alvarez, scored six, but neither of the strikers scored - not many will have predicted that.
Thomas Frank from Brentford for Man U.
NUFC v Arsenal was a real Blood and thunder game, which probably benefitted us, as arsenal don’t have the players for that fight IMO.
havertz is a straight red. Absolute leg breaker. Bruno was petulant, but you can’t do that so really both teams should have gone to 10.
the goal is one of those things. Ball looks in but no tech to prove that is daft. I think Gordon is behind the ball, so I think he’s onside. Foul, in real time looks ok, but in slo mo over and over agin looks worse.
the difference between the two managers post match is night and day. Eddie is very pragmatic about the awful foul. Arteta is totally unreasonable, I look forward to his ban.
Just seen the Arsenal Newcastle game on MOTD how both sides weren’t down to 10 men I don’t know and the VAR for the goal was a joke.
VAR did what it was meant to, either provide definitive proof against the decision, or go with the on-field decision.
On the basis VAR is meant to overturn clear and obvious errors, I think it did its job.
FWIW I thought the ball was in and it wasn't offside. The foul I'm not sure, I don't think there was much to it but the straight arms stopped the Arsenal player from jumping and competing for the ball
Thomas Frank from Brentford for Man U.
And be the next on the list in the graveyard of managerial careers that is Old Trafford?
Why would he go from a well-run club where he calls the shots and is getting great results, to the chaos of Man Yoo and being told by the marketing department which team you're going to be putting out, dependent on this months replica shirt sales in Singapore?
Cheer up Binners, your team is back, onwards and upwards for Ten Hag and Captain Bruno 😁
Gooner here......the ball was in, it probably was a foul, Gordon was onside. Havertz challenge was a stiff yellow but i wouldn't have been surprised had he been shown for a red. As for Bruno.....he got away with one on Jorginho and why he wasn't shown yellow for walloping a ball at an opponent is baffling......yet his actual booking looked harsh. There is obviously a deep seated animosity between the two sets of players but there is something about the way Eddie Howe teams do a lot of niggling and moaning which make them very hard to watch whoever they play. We so need a proper presence up front.
Arteta is totally unreasonable, I look forward to his ban.
I said to a mate last night after the goal went in that Arteta would completely lose his shit if it turned out to be the winner. I wasn't wrong. Is it just me or is he the most petulant self-entitled manager in PL history?
Eddie Howe teams do a lot of niggling and moaning which make them very hard to watch whoever they play.
Trust me it's great to watch if you're from Newcastle 🙂. They're aggressive for sure, and that's working very well for them, but I fail to see how that's a bad thing.
but I fail to see how that’s a bad thing
It's not a bad thing if you are Newcastle fan (at the end of the day, blinkers are well and truly on for you all right now). But as fans of watching football, it isn't so good.
Is it just me or is he the most petulant self-entitled manager in PL history?
Hi...

But as fans of watching football, it isn’t so good.
Well I have to disagree. There's nothing better than a full-blooded aggressive match where the players are going at each other hammers and tongs. I remember the Man U match when we beat them 4-3 and Keane got sent off after Shearer wound him up so much his temper snapped. One of the most entertaining things I've ever seen on a football pitch. Football is an angry game, and I hope it stays that way.
but there is something about the way Eddie Howe teams do a lot of niggling and moaning which make them very hard to watch whoever they play
There was only one lot doing the niggling and moaning last night. Right the way through to Arteta crying to the cameras.
The ref was a joke, Havertz could of broken Longstaffs leg, only gets a yellow, then he books 3 Newcastle players.
The goal was a goal. It was kept in, Joelinton doesn't commit a foul and Gordon was onside.

That says more about you than anything else.
That says more about you than anything else.
Well I remember being in the stadium that day against Man U and I can assure you 50,000 others completely agreed with me. Take the aggression out of football and no one would watch it.
And why the personal dig BTW? It's really not necessary. Quite pathetic in fact. 😕
Nonsense
You seriously want to see football matches where everyone is nice and polite with no passion or aggression? I think you'll find yourself in the minority.
I don’t often find myself in agreement with Daz but I’m with him 100% on this.
There was nothing better than when Keane and Viera were taking lumps out of each other in midfield, Keown was monstering Van Nistelroy, Scholes was being Scholes and it felt like a sending off was only seconds away. Handbags all over the pitch with people players all up in each other’s faces. Refs would virtually give up and just let them get on with it as everyone was giving as good as they got. It was ace! 😃

One of the best matches I’ve ever watched was the infamous ‘Battle of the Bridge’ with Chelsea and Spurs. The ref had completely lost control in the first 5 minutes and after that it was basically a 90 minute brawl. Unbelievably there were no red cards. There should have been about 15! It was absolutely bloody brilliant!
