Lawrie McMenemy was never off the scene a few years ago or what about Kevin Keegan, he'd get you goals but concede more

Apparently when Southgate passed the FA his resignation they took it for a moment, thought about opportunities to move forward,  decided against and passed it back.   Where upon Gareth played a crossfield pass to Foden who panicked and passed it back to Kane who knocked it 50 yards to pickford.

If the FA want to appoint an English manager

Steve Cooper has recently joined Leicester.

He's Welsh

Think I could satisfy most of the criteria but as yet not got a UEFA Pro License, but I’m sure my GCSE in woodwork and drama is transferable.

with a strong track record delivering results in the Premier League

Potter's application looking shaky.

Also, I hope mannie.neville@thefa.com has some help with inbox-sorting, or it's going to be a tiresome couple of weeks.

Isn’t Lampard presently in the frame? All the FA would need to do then is appoint Stevie G as his assistant, just to ensure a continual state of confusion

I fear we have begun the spiral of media linked contenders distancing themselves one by one.   Klopp, now Howe.  I give it a month before some desperation sets in and big Sam is called

A Triumvirate of Scholes, Lampard and Gerrard might provide a hearty hoot for the non England fan.

Scholes would accept the job then announce his international retirement half way through the first mornings training session

They have inserted a clause to prevent Big Sam getting a call.

-Will have strong personal values and integrity

Nah he'd be rumbled sucking Lampard's toes and nibbling Gerrard's toe nails. He's got form
