Ok folks ,got me thinking head on today as making me flapjacks,PASTA !
Does anybody do or make pasta bars, containing carbs, fat, protein and most important of all taste.
So i'm experimenting now !
Uncooked pasta is terrible. Cooked pasta is too soft. What's the plan?
pasta with crumble type mix then baked off in oven ,tis a mission in progress i think .
I'm curious now. Won't it just burn?
Any flapjack recipe containing flour and eggs has the same ingredients as pasta
pasta omelette hummmmmmm
Pre cooked pasta just enough liquid added tom puree, onion finely diced, herbs, sultanas ,cos i love em ,finely chopped chorizo.
Cooled down
flour mix 50/50 white n granery mix ,salt ,olive oil to form a crumb mix.
Added cooled pasta to this mixed all together ,spread in to lined greased baking tray, bake off in oven till browned n crispy .
Sticky rice would work best. You could do it with fish. You'd need to wrap it in something to stop it falling apart. Maybe a vegetarian option with cucumber, might need something to spice it up a little bit.
Fish idea sounds good ,thinking oily type ,mackeral, one for later in summer when local mackeral in good supply.
might need something to spice it up a little bit.
How about some pickled ginger?

Doesn't a banana do most of that already?
i think the garmin team use fresh rice 'bars'. they need to be careful with them though as they can turn food poisony tastic quite quickly

you're going to need something in there to hold it all together in the shape of a bar.
Surely the gluten..?
bake off in oven till browned n crispy .
Where are you baking it off to?....
(sorry, this REALLY grates on me. It's bake, not bake off. It's fry, not fry off.)

?
Something that sets, like eggs or a sauce. At the moment it's some kind of pasta bake, crumble hybrid. Either way it won't hold as a bar.
It bound together ok ,but very bland in taste needs stronger flavours.
Perhaps a cheese topping ?

Tastes nice
American flap jack recipe
Ingredients
1 cup all-purpose flour
1 teaspoon white sugar
1 teaspoon salt
1 teaspoon baking soda
2 eggs
1 cup milk
1 teaspoon vanilla extract
1 tablespoon vegetable oil
1 teaspoon margarine, softened
Directions
Mix together flour, sugar, salt and baking soda in a bowl. In another bowl, beat together eggs, milk, vanilla, vegetable oil and margarine. Mix together dry ingredients into egg mixture; mix until smooth.
Heat a lightly oiled griddle or frying pan over medium high heat. Pour or scoop the batter onto the griddle, using just about 1/4 cup for each flapjack.
When small air bubbles and golden brown edges start to appear, flip and brown both sides
I know that in other countries Noodle Bars are very popular
