Hi all,

Looking for a fold up daypack to take travelling, so we can leave our big bags in the hostel/hotel, and just take a jacket/camera/water etc with us for the day.

Any recommendations for decent but cheap ones?

A lot of the one's I've seen so far are really small, can't hold much, and look a bit silly...

Something along the lines of this;

(Cheaper would be nice of course... plus sternum straps might be handy)

Ta, Duane.

Oh, and waterproof would be handy, but not essential.

Gourdon? Would keep stuff dry inside your main bag as well

Haha, went to look at them earlier (they didn't have them in stock last time I looked), but now they're having a stock check so shop is down...

Would they not be pretty uncomfy though?

OK, the Gourdons are back up. Has anyone used them? They don't look too comfy (although they do have a removable padding?), and no external pockets etc.

They're comfortable enough for a daysack, the waist belt is a bit pointless though. It's a shame the 20L version is out of stock as the mesh pockets are extremely useful.

gourdons not comfy

why need folding bag ? just do what almost all travelers do .... big rucksack on the back and day sack on the front.

how about this?
It folds up very small, is strong and 20L. If it's just for a few bits and bobs and a water bottle is should be fine
waist & sternum straps aren't really necessary unless you're going to carry significant weight all day and if you are, then you're better off with a proper rucsac not a packable one
